My best friend and I arrived at Orlando International Airport on Thursday 10/4. I decided to get my luggage myself before heading onto the ME to take me Home to Coronado Springs. To my surprise when I obtained my suitcase I was psst, as my suitcase (brand new) was ripped. I immediately went to the airlines to make a complaint, just to be told: ‘ I will fill out the report for you, but I will also deny it’, as the zipper being ripped is not covered. This lady repeatedly stated this to me three times. I felt myself about to say something, and decided to bite my tongue…as I did not want to be detained from going to my Home Away from Home. But before heading to ME, I stated to her, you can deny it and I can appeal it. So off we headed to ME, which would then take us to CSR. My friend bless her soul, tried to get me in a better mode and not to allow this witch to reap the many benefits that was about to be bestowed upon me, just by being in the Magical Land of Disney World. However, it took me a while as I wondered how the heck I was going to get home with my luggage as well as all the stuff I knew I would be buying. I felt that this was the beginning of a downward spiral of bad events about to happen to me during this trip. Quite the contrary!!

CSR: Arrived at CSR and the CM’s were extremely nice. Check in was fast and smooth. I told them of my mishap and they told me not to worry. I asked if they had masking tape and they said they would see what they could do, but wanted me to just have a great time at Home. They informed me that Garden Groceries had delivered my groceries, and offered to take them to the room as we did not have a car. We were assigned to Cabana 8B, Room 8601. Perfect Location, as the both of us are smokers, and the designated smoking section was located a couple of feet right in front of our room. And yes, even when it rained, we just put on our ponchos went outside, sat down and smoke as I was not about to be fined for smoking in the room! Furthermore; we were right near Bus Stop #4. The bus always ran efficient and never had to stand up, going to and from the parks, as well as DTD.

The resort is absolutely, absolutely beautiful. There were conventions going on as we were there, but never realized it. Yes the resort is big, but is easily manageable if you know how to maneuver it. There were always the carts going by and they always asked if we needed a ride. If they were full, and we did not feel like walking, we just walked to Bus Stop #4 and rode it to Bus Stop #1, the main station.

Mouse-keeping was superb. The room was immaculate. Thanks to all the guidance and suggestions from fellow disers who have been to CSR, I knew exactly what to expect. We never had to override the AC as the room was almost like a freezer and we left it like that as it was extremely hot and humid, and always felt good after a long day walking in the parks sweating.

Dinner Plan: For table service we ate at Maya Grill, Sci-Fi Dine-In, Coral Reef, and Capn’Jack. CS we ate at the Pepper Market several times, even got free Margaritas twice. We found PM easy to understand and had no problems. We also ate at the parks during the day. I would take the Dinning plan again because as we added the cost of each of our meals, we came out on top by having the DP.

MNSSHP: Went on 10/5, it rained it poured. Sadly the parade at 8:15 was cancelled due to the rain. I was bummed out and did not want to stay to see if the parade would occur at 10:15 as scheduled, so we decided to leave. One of the CM’s asked why we were leaving so early, told her I was bummed out because of the rain, and she gave us free cards for the next event. WOW!!

DTD: Was shopping in the ‘Wonder’s of Disney Store, when one of the CM’s walked up to me and asked if I wanted to play a game: The Price of Right, I said sure. Played the game which was basically four items in the store, and you had to put the right price tag with the right item. I won the game and received ‘Year of a Million Dreams’ certificate and a trading pin.

Sunday 10/7: Worry began to set in, as we were leaving on 10/8 and I was wondering how the heck I was going to get home with a busted suitcase. I called the main desk to see if they had any masking tape so I could try to repair my suitcase. The CM, who answered the phone, put me on with the Manager and I explained what had occurred. I was informed to wait for about 10 minutes and someone would bring me some tape.

Knock, Knock: A CM at my door with two brand new Disney suitcases…Needless to say I was in total shock.

I booked for next year, as I had the offer in my room for the free DP to begin 8/30/98-9/27/08.

All in All, I had a wonderful magical time and, everything was perfect at CSR!!

Monday 10/8/07: So sad, as I knew I was heading back home! However, I know that I will be coming back Home again next year for sure, staying at CSR!!

I LOVE stories like that. It really is a magical place!

I love stories like that and am so glad your trip turned out so well with a happy ending on the suitcase front! I have to say, I am not a bit surprised, the cms at CSR I encountered were all wonderful and WDW in general just seems to go above and beyond on the customer service front. And yes, I know, bad things happen but I cannot think of another destination where this type of service would occur.

Glad you booked another trip, welcome home!

We'll be there in December too!! :woohoo: So looking forward to seeing those great decorations.

Thanks for your review. Glad to hear you had a good vacation and enjoyed CSR! Wow, that's really awesome about the new Disney luggage - what a wonderful example of Disney World magic!!
