We are booked for the CSR and since its our first time we are a bit unsure as far as the busses go? I don't want to rent a car if we don't have to but we are going at a peak time and I am worried about bus waits? I saw on here that CSR does not share buses with other resorts, does this work out better for us? :confused3

Any tips, ideas?

Thanks in advance!!!

CSR has very good bus service. Because it is a convention resort, it help to keep them less crowded than other resorts. I've been to CSR in Feb, April, May, Jun, Oct and Nov. For the most part, the buses come every 10 mins and I've only had to stand about 5 or 6 times and that was two trips to Epcot during the day and the rest at park closing.

CSR is the most central to the 3 parks. The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World in part three "Selecting your Hotel" it states that the commuting times to the parks from CSR are: 7:30 to MK; 4:00 to Epcot; 4:45 to MGM; and 4:45 to Animal Kingdom! As a comparison from POR it is 12:00 to MK; 8:00 to Epcot; 12:30 to MGM; and 16:15 to AK. See the map below.

The bus stops are:

They go in this order to assist guests in getting to the main building and back to their village.

CSR does not share a bus with any other resort. But the resort does have 4 bus stops in it, so it most likely won't be that you hop on a bus and go directly to the parks. However the busses should be less crowded, as CSR is a convention resort, and many people staying there don't go to the parks.

We've stayed at CSR 3 times and found the bus service to be very good. We often had little or no waiting. The buses were rarely crowded, we even had the bus to ourselves a few times.

The longest bus ride is to Downtown Disney. Probably just poor timing on our part, but it seems as though the return bus from Downtown Disney is the one we always ended up waiting 15-20 minutes for.

When leaving the parks, the CSR bus stops are very close to the exits. :thumbsup2

Oh wow!!! Thanks for all the input!!! I feel better now. I had called Disney on a whim ( I didn't want to stay off site for our first trip) and could not pass up the deal so I booked and cancelled my rental and hotel. Then I got nervous about the transportation!

You got a great place! Check out my CSR website below for lots of pics and info.

Okay so I have been surfing through your stuff for the past hour and there is still so much more!!! It is a HUGE resort!! I am now thinking if I should try and get a certain area!!! Thank you so much!!!

We were at CSR last week - we drove there so we had our own car - and we chose to take the busses instead of driving ourselves. We didn't want the hassle of parking or trying to find our way back to the hotel at 11PM. I don't think you need to rent the car, unless you have other extenuating circumstances, like you want to eat off-site or something.

CSR is a really great resort...enjoy!
