How far of a walk is the Casitas section to the Mayan Pool? I really like the look of this area and would like to be one of the first bus stops. But how far of a walk is it to their main pool? I want to call and request a certain section soon.
Thanks

Not bad from casita 5, far from casita 1. But you can use the internal shuttle (golf carts).

:surfweb: Jill, we stayed is Casitas 1 which is the building right next to the convention center and walked to the Pool one evening. Obviously, you can walk either way around the lake to get there.

:confused3 Im not sure which took longer, on the way there, we walked clockwise around the lake,(walking away from the convention center) and its about a 5 minute walk i guess. :woohoo:

:cool1: on the way back, after waiting for one of those golf cart shuttles, that never came, we walked across the bridge from the pool area to the cabanas across the lake and back to # 1, i think that walk was a little faster plus you can go in the pepper market and get a little nosh onthe way back.

 we loved the resort and next summer plan on requesting Casitas # 1 again:cool1:

Hi Jenn - you guys will love Coronado! We stayed there in '98 when the boys were 8 and 11 and had a blast. We stayed in Cabanas 8 (can't remember if it was A or B), and the pool was very close - but don't worry, even from Casitas it's not too far. We loved the Pepper Market and keep saying we need to stop by just to eat there again, even if we aren't staying there! David and the boys rented bikes one day (they even give them helmets), and we rented a boat for an hour, too. If you want to see our photo album from the trip, just give me a call and we can get together. Oh, we got our airfare yesterday for March - $227 on Southwest - not as good as your Delta deal, but better than I thought we would get!

Which building is the best in terms of bus transportation and proximity to the Pepper Market? I was thinking of requesting Cabanas Bldg. 9. Does anyone know the order of the bus loop at CSR?

When I stayed at CSR, the first pickup was the Casitas and the bus worked around the resort clockwise; the last pick up was the main building. It's still the same as far as I know.

Casitas has the first bus stop and is really close to the Pepper Market.

There will be some walking involved at CSR but not as bad as some make it out to be. The distance around the whole lake is just under a mile (.97 miles).

Walking Distances
From El Centro moving clockwise around the lake path to:
Casitas 3 = .16 miles
Casitas 4 = .24 miles
Casitas 5 = .27 miles
Ranchos = .46 miles

From El Centro to the Dig Site, via the bridge near the Cabanas
= .35 miles

From El Centro moving counterclockwise around the lake to:
Cabanas 9B = .16 miles
Cabanas 9A/8B = .22 miles
Cabanas 8A = .31 miles

There are two ways around walking, one is to use the internal shuttle provided by the golf carts or use the buses. Park buses start at bus stop 2 and end at bus stop 1. Downtown Disney and park exit buses start at bus stop 1 and end at bus stop 4. They do this so guests can get to and from the main building and get closer to their rooms. There are signs posted at the bus stop on how to use the buses.

Depending on what you want to be close to, here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. Most convenient location and most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool and is the old smoking optional building.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

Make your room request as soon as you make your reservation. It’s never too early.

We stayed in Casitas 3 and loved it- we are not pool people- plus sandal weather only 2 days for us in January. We used the bus stop by El Centro- it was the last to be picked up and the busses were just not an issue. Loved Casitas though!
