We will be going to WDW Jan 1-6 and I would like to stay at CSR. I have seen pics of both of these sections and would like anyones opinions on where to stay. To me the casitas are more visually appealing, I like the fountains and gardens. But from what I've read the cabanas are more convenient to El Centro and the Dig Site. The cabanas remind me of CBR, where we stayed on our first trip, which was just alright to me. Any opinions appreciated:rolleyes:

We loved Casitas 5 - great views and beauty, but Cabanas seemed more convenient to El Centro and Dig Site.

I also loved Casitas 5 -was on the ground floor looking out on a little courtyard with a fountain. The quiet pool and a bus stop were nearby.

The walk to the dig site was a little ways but pretty. Same for the walk to El Centro. I didn't eat there often just went to refill my mug before going to the main bus stop. I learned a couple of shortcuts through the buildings. I guess it depends if you mind walking -it can be a pleasent relaxing stroll especially after the parks.

We were in Casitas #2 close to a quiet pool and Bus Stop #2. We didn't spend a great deal of time at El Centro or the main pool so it was nice for us. It was peaceful and the bus stop was convenient. I sort of remember seeing more crowds at Bus Stop #3 which is close to the cabanas. It was a bit far to conveniently run down to El Centro for a cup of coffee or drink refill in our opinion. That wasn't a big issue for us because CSR had in room coffee makers and we did a grocery stop to pick up sodas, snacks, and breakfast things to have in our room. CSR was great. Either way, I'm sure you'll love the resort.

Actually the Casitas are attached to El Centro. I stayed in Casita 1 in August and it was 1 minute to El Centro. The Cabanas are further away but closer to the Digsite. If you are going in January I suggest the Casitas for proximity to 2 different bus stops and the Pepper Market. The nice thing about the Casitas is you are pretty much covered walking between buildings (should it rain) If you are in the Cabanas you will have to cross the parking lot to get to the bus stop or walk across an uncovered bridge to get to El Centro.

Hi Gail215,

I think cabana 9b is would meet your needs as well as casitas 1 or 3. Cabana 9b is right behind bus stop #1 and just a short walk over the bridge to the Dig Site. El Centro is the building right next to cabana 9b. It is also right across the walkway from the marina where you can rent boats and bikes.

Cabanas 8B, top floor, corner room, waterview-awesome! Don't remember exact room #, but loved it! CS is our favorite resort. :teeth:
