Newbie here. I spend most of my time in the cruise boards so if someone can answer some questions or point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it very much.

I am thinking about CSR for 3 nights (Sat-Mon) before our cruise next summer. I read in a post on the cruise board that this resort was not a very good place for kids. They didn't come back and answer my question of why. Any ideas? I am leaning towards this mod resort as it's only about $250 more than Pop and you get a better pool, a fridge (don't know if we'll use it or not, but it's there) and best of all queen beds. We are 3 girls. Grandma, daughter and granddaughter-9 yo. The dgd has a bad habit of being a bed hog! So, is it worth it?

Is this resort/restaurant more crowded than others because of the convention center? I also like that it has a dedicated bus. Does that help or not make much of a difference?

Which bldg would be best for me, who doesn't walk too well? I was thinking the Cabanas. Kinda close to main bldg and food courts and the dig pool, too. I know it's not a given if I request it but I'd like to put in a request if it would help. I read about the golf carts. So, maybe it doesn't matter that you get a building close. How late do they run? Can you make a call and have them pick you up or is there a stop or do they just pick you up when you're walking?

Sorry about all the questions, but I'm obsessing! The price of the room I was looking at has gone up about $200 since the packages came out a couple weeks ago. I want to get this booked before it goes up any more! I would have thought the prices they release would be the price it stays at. I'm used to prices of the cruise going up the closer it gets but we've never been to WDW.

Thanks so much!!!

Our kids LOVED the resort (although they were about 8 and 10 the last time they stayed there). that'snice stayed there with his then 2-year old and they found it very kid friendly. Here's a recent review from someone who was there with young kids and they had a great stay.

As for which section to request, check out the link in my signature for the "unofficial" CSR thread. If you have any questions, feel free to post them -- lots of wonderful people there willing to help (or you can always send me a PM).

This mod. is wonderful. My kids liked it, they were 17 and 10 when we went this last May. The queen beds alone were worth it for me, comfier than the POP beds, although the POP beds weren't horrible either. I have back issues so this is a major item on any list for staying some where. The CSR resort is beautiful, we stayed in the Cabanas 8A closest to the pool, facing the Rancheros side of this resort.

Restuarant wasn't crowded any time we were there, but then again we weren't there during peak eating times either, so I don't know that I can be a big help here. Never saw anyone attending the convention except the last day we were there and that's because we were sitting at a table just outside the restaurant in a little waiting area for the fancier rest. The buses were far better than waiting for the one at POP, it's at least covered for one thing and since they have four total it didn't seem like the bus was over loaded at any point (well except coming back from the park once it closed, but that's any bus) Never had to wait long for a bus going to the parks.

Not sure the golf carts will give you the advantage your looking for, they would wiz by but never once stopped until the last day I was there, I'd just thrown out my back so I was so greatful for it. The only time I saw them offer a ride was when a woman was really pretty or looking like they had a hard time walking, such as an elderly person....or me.
We loved the Cabana 8A building closest to the pool, we faced the Rancheros buildings and were pretty close to the bus stop, which were the two biggest things I was looking for since we almost never go into the main building after checking in. This building (Cabanas 8A) will put you a distance from the main building El Centro, it looks really far away, but only takes you about 5-7 mins. to walk to it. If you have a hard time walking it will probably take you obviously a bit more. I do have to say where we were located (I think it was room 1839) there were golf carts coming by quite a bit, but always wizzing by at a quick rate. I think the carts are really more for taking suitcases to rooms from Magical Express buses rather than there for the convience of the guests.
Maybe a better idea would be for you to consider renting from an off site rental place for a scooter. This way you'll have it to get you around without worrying about how far you are from the main building and not to mention to get around in the parks. I don't know what time of the year your going but it's it's even slightly busy it's a good chance you won't get one once your at the parks. I don't know what your physical condition is that you cant' walk so well, (and I don't need to know since it's not mine or anyone else's business) but I'm wondering how much fun your going to have without a scooter since walking is a majority of what you'll be doing when in WDW.
Check out the disabilities board for the information on where to rent from off property. There are some great places who will bring the scooter to you at the resort or drop it off without you having to be there if you like. And will pick it up for you when your done. Be sure to find one that will come bring you a new one if something happens with it. I hear good things about Apple and that Walker isn't doing so well these days with customer service. :confused3

You'll find lots of good company here when it comes to obsessing, that's what this board is for! :goodvibes
No matter where you stay you'll have a great time, the POP is a lot of fun and high energy, and great for those who like that. The CSR is quiet, beautiful and peaceful for the grown-ups and kids alike. CSR will have plenty of fun things for your daughter to do, it's just not going to have the lively high energy atmosphere that POP has. I don't suppose you'll be at the resort much, when you have a little girl wanting to be in the parks any way. :goodvibes So honestly you can't go wrong with either, it just depends on what you like. :thumbsup2

Sorry, I really talked up a storm didn't I?!?

Where ever you end up staying have a wonderful and magical time while there! pixiedust:

Thanks to the both of you. I guess I just need to make a decision and stop second guessing it. Then stop looking. Once I stop obsessing about which resort, I can start obsessing about parks and restaurants. Heaven help me!!! :lmao:
