Saturday December 15, 2007 Poohtigeey!
Here is the bonus portion of my trip report. Sam and I decided to go to WDW for the day on Saturday December 15 to finish some Christmas shopping and more importantly, meet Monica (Poohtigeey) and her family.
I woke up at 6 am to get ready. The plan was to leave at 7 but we were running a little behind. Sam didnt get up until a little after 7 and we didnt actually leave until about 7:30. Sam just wore her pjs in the car and brought clothes to change into. I talked to Monica when we were getting close to WDW and we decided to meet at Animal Kingdom. They were going to see Finding Nemo: The Musical at 10:00 and since we would be just getting there at that time we decided to meet afterwards.
We pulled into AK at 10 am. We parked and Sam changed her clothes in the car. We hopped on the tram and were through security and turnstiles by 10:15. We decided to head over to Dinoland to hang out until the Nemo show was over. We rode Primeval Whirl which we both love. As the ride was ending Monica called and they were headed our way.
I was getting nervous now would they be freaks? Would they think we were freaks?

We were planning to spend a good part of the day together so I was hoping wed get along. My fears were quickly dispelled when Monica and Hunter walked right up to us. We talked for a bit and met the rest of the family. What a nice family every one of them!

I was so excited to spend the day together now I knew wed get along just great! Monica, Hunter, Sam and I decided to ride Primeval Whirl again while grandma Peggy and Megan rode the other dino ride (cant remember the name). Dave decided to just sit and wait for us such an easy going, go with the flow kind of guy. (At least that is the impression I got Monica!)
Hunter was so talkative it was great! He was eager to answer any questions I asked him and was such a friendly kid. Sam is so shy that she will rarely talk to anyone until she feels comfortable. She would finally come out of her shell later in the day.
We all decided to go and see the Flights of Wonder show. We had never seen this before (and I dont think they had either). We walked by EE on the way to see if by chance there was no wait. The standby line was 50 minutes so Sam and I got a FP for later. The Flights of Wonder show was really good. I love to watch birds I dont want to touch one or have one land on me but watching them is very enjoyable. I think we all enjoyed this show Sam still talks about it.
After Flights of Wonder the Poohtigeey family had to head over to Epcot for the ADR at Coral Reef. We said goodbye with plans to meet up again later. Sam and I went to Pizzafari for lunch. She had cheese pizza and I had the chicken parmesan sandwich the exact same lunch we had two weeks ago! After lunch it was time to use our FP for EE. We walked right on and had a great ride. As we were boarding I saw two paramedics with a stretcher.

The walked through the loading area and down a little pathway not sure where they were going. We had a great ride and Sam wanted to ride again. The standby line was only 25 minutes so we went through again.
After EE we decided to head over to Epcot where we would be meeting up later. We drove over and got a really close parking spot. We were happy to see that SSE was open but the line was really long so we decided to come back later.
We went to Test Track to grab a FP for later. I knew we wanted to ride this with Monica and her family later and I wasnt sure if they had already gotten their FP. We stopped for an ice-cream treat. Then we went to ride The Seas with Nemo and Friends. We have ridden this before and though it is a cute ride I dont think Id wait in line more than 20 minutes for it. The ride was a walk on so we did it. As we were getting off the ride Monica called and said they were just leaving Coral Reef great timing! We met outside and got to hear all about their great meal!
We thought wed try out SSE but it was now closed.

They hadnt gotten their Test Track FP yet so we went over there. Our return times were off by 5 minutes but I figured we could use ours late. Then it was off to World Showcase. Hunter and Megan were trying to finish their masks from the Kidcot stations and had a few more countries to hit.
Mexico was first. Sam and I love this pavilion. We looked around the shop for a while and I got my dad a Donald Duck hat for Christmas. We rode the boat ride which was fun as usual. Sam was starting to warm up to Hunter we were sitting behind him on the boat and kept pestering him.
We stopped to get a drink (the non-alcoholic kind) at a drink stand in the Africa area. Sam and I were getting a Strawberry slushy to share. As I was getting ready to pay the CM told me shed give it to me for free if I put the rope up on her line! I was so excited to get this little unexpected dream.

We sat for while with our drinks just talking for a bit which was nice. Then it was on to see the rest of the world. We ended up going all the way around World Showcase! We didnt stop everywhere but we did get all the way around.
Sam and Hunter were talking to each other non stop now. I was walking next to them and I heard their conversation which cracked me up. They both recently discovered thrill rides/roller coasters and decided that when they were teenagers we would all come back and they could ride everything by themselves. They decided that the parents could just sit down somewhere!

Hey, we want to ride too!
We went over to Test Track to use our FPs. Monica, Dave, Hunter, Sam and I rode the first time all together. We had a fun ride and the picture was pretty good too! Since they had the baby swap for Megan, four people were able to ride again. They offered to let Sam use one of the passes. I didnt think she would go without me and I didnt want to use up another of their passes (though they did offer). I gave her the option of riding again with grandma Peggy, Dave and Hunter or just waiting with me. To my surprise she decided to go! I was so proud of her for doing something on her own guess she is growing up! They had a fun ride and it was nice for Monica, Megan and I to hang out while we waited.
We figured it was time to part ways and head home. They were headed back to the resort to get finish some shopping and get their vehicle. Sam and I planned to get something to eat at Electric Umbrella before leaving. As we were walking out, the Poohtigeey family decided to join us at Electric Umbrella for dinner. They just couldnt get enough of us!

Just kidding it was nice to be able to spend a little more time together though.
We said goodbye again and Sam and I headed out. On the way out we were surprised to see that SSE was open again! We decided to ride of course. Monica called me as we were getting on to tell me it was open they must have been right behind us! Sam and I enjoyed the ride and the updates. There seems to be a little more work to be done on the descent but for an unfinished project we enjoyed it.
That was it we ended up leaving later than we anticipated but it was well worth it. We had a great day trip! We got home around midnight and fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow.
Thanks to everyone who has read my report. Our next trip is scheduled for the weekend of February 8-10 hope to see you all then
