We are sold to stay at a moderate (financial reasons) in 2010.
Love to hear about all the rehads slated for 2008/2009 that we will see in 2010.

We like upper floor rooms (more privacy), somewhat near laundry (do not want to walk to another buidling), near a bus stop and away from smoking.
Maybe pay for water view.
We will not have a car.

Looking at the CSR map - how is Casita #4 - too near conventioners ?
Cabana 9A - near a smoking area ?

Casita is 1st bus stop to the parks. Slightly leaning towards Casiata 4 - but how long does it take to walk to the Dig Site pool ans Pepper market from Casita 4 ?

I also looked up Casita in Spanish - it means small house ;)

We have stayed in Casitas 4 on several trips. I can't tell you how far it is to the bus stop because we always rent a car. There is a quiet pool right about Casitas 4. How long it takes to walk to the Dig Site and to the Pepper Market all depends on how quick of a walker you are. I am a fast walker all the time. I go for coffee every morning at the Pepper Market when we are there. It takes me about four minutes; if my DH is walking with me, it probably takes about seven to eight minutes. I would say the same for the Dig Site. The golf carts are usually going around quite frequently and they always ask if we want a ride, but we prefer to walk. As for whether it is too close to the conventioneers, I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you mean the rooms they are staying in? I'm not sure if they are designated to a particular section or not. The convention center itself is up by the main building. As I walk for my coffee in the morning, I often see the conventioneers walking to either breakfast at Maya Grill or to their meetings. They are always very friendly and gracious, saying hello, have a nice day, etc. Hope this helps a little.

Depending on what you want to be close to, here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge (most convenient location and most preferred).

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building (closest to the pool).

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool (and is the old smoking optional building).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #5.

Make your room request as soon as you make your reservation. It’s never too early.

Wow - from Casita 4 about a 7 minute walk to the pool and food :headache:
That would be like us walking from the Dolphin almost to the "back door" entrance to EPCOT.

If we stay at the CSR we will have to request Cabana 9A or 9B.

Th CSR pool looks so good - best of the moderates.
We have to be at a WDW resort (not the Dolphin) to get the food plan - which would save us at least $500 - $1,000 for 2 weeks at WDW.

AKL with bunkbeds would be our next choice - but I think for Easter week it would cost us an addtional $1000 to stay there.

So back to CSR as our choice. We will make our reservation as soon as 2010 reservations are available. We will ask for Cabana 9A or 9B. It will be our 25th anniversary when we go in 2010 - so maybe they will honor our request. :goodvibes
