CSE-- Pg. 74 SATAN'S HAMMER, Ch.18, pg.160 "Goodnight Sweetheart" epilogue

Great Chapter Nebo! Only you can make the flight so interesting.

Yay for Smidgy!!! I can't wait to hear about the room that she scored for you.

And you already had to get into the stash? Oh boy. And you didn't want to write a TR about this???

I've been back and forth about the Hunger Games books. Upon your recommendation, maybe I'll check them out. :thumbsup2

Oh, and thanks for asking---the move will officially happen on Monday of next week. We bought in Plainfield. Maddie and I have been living in a hotel since April 22 (but the first week was a Disney hotel), so it can't come soon enough.

so funny.. nebo was SO worried about the pills on the airplane.. getting "caught".

I went to the podium (pulpit) to ask the CM (oops, employee) about carry ons. "I read where we aren't "guaranteed" a carry on. if there is no room, we have to check it?"

pretty airline lady:"yes, but if everyone is considerate, it should all fit"

me:"oh, cause we really need my hubby's carry on. it has all his medications in it.

pretty airline lady: "ANYTHING GOOD?":rotfl:

Ya gotta love it. Real people - and real ground crew personnel - know that a few "smooth" pills (as we call them in our family) helps everyone "whistle while they work"

Oh, I looked all right, ,,, Was that a childhood poem?
"Diddle diddle dumpling, my son John, one shoe off and one shoe on..."
Why would I know that? Am I right? No, don't answer, it's not going to loook good either way. You don't want to use the words Diddle with kids nowadays, even in childish rhymes.

Did you find this in that famous children's book we were discussing, Fifty Shades of Grey?

She sat down and pulled out a magazine, i worked on my staring into space.

You need practice for that?

Not much happened on the flight at all;

Ok. What's with the title of this thread then?

Oooh,, I just had a chilling thought:
Eating at Ohana and then getting on a long flight.

Shrimp shells!

Isn't it alwyas amazing how long it takes everybody in front of you to get off the damn plane?

That's because they all have those big bags you mentioned.

Down to just my jeans, I look down and realize I look like Dustin Hoffman on the cover of "The Graduate."

only taller

Just taller?

In a lounger, I open up my book that I just started,,,, Mockingjay.

Yes,, you read that right, even though it's for young adults,,, AARP recommended it, and I bought Hunger Games for the trip.

Seems to be the THE book to read at Disney.

For the record,,, I was disappointed with the movie,,, I don't like the shaky camera thing going on a lot now,,, and I really hate when they can't leave a camera on one thing for more than 2 seconds without changing views,,, I hate, hate, hate,,, that.

I think a lot of people were annoyed with that.

One of the greatest movie scenes ever,,, is of George Bailey sitting at the bar in Martini's,,,, the camera view is right at his face and you can tell the weight of the whole world in on his shoulders, as he clutches his hands to his chin and just stares straight ahead, not knowing what in the world he is going to do about the missing money, and his eyes fill up with tears as the camera still stays on his face, maybe moving in slowly,,,,,,

Great shot!
They could never film something like that now, no way would it have the same devastating effect.

Love that movie. I'm too young to say they don't make 'em like that anymore though.

These are all right in the area of the Rancho quiet pool.

We had a view of that pool a couple years ago. I wasn't thrilled about getting a room in the Ranchos section having been spoiled a few years before that in the Cabanas building closest to the lobby but it turned out to be pleasant.

Lucky you with the room!

Great chapter Nebo! Thanks!

Great update! Glad to hear your experience with the ATOD went well. My DH swears he's never flying again after our last flight home from MCO in January 2011. It was just a little ice and turbulence... :confused3

How do you get so lucky with your rooms? I guess I should keep at it instead of giving in so easily... looking forward to the video and the next installment.

You say that because you are concerned for me and my safety and well being, right?
Me, and how I'm going to make it through the trip and still enjoy it,,,, becouse you are concerned about ME, knowing how normally I do everything I possibly can to make our trips the best I can, and how when things are out of your hands,,, that's just it, they are out of your hands, nothing you can do about it. And you feel bad and wish you could help and make things better yourself, whatever you can do to ease the pain anyway you can.

And NOT, NOT, NOT, , ,, "Poor Smidgy,,, HOW can WE help HER ,,,, deal with him this way?

Oh, forget it,,, just forget it,,, I see the look on your typing fingers,, you can't hide that, once again,,, I'm on my own.

you are just jealous cause Lisa and I are friends!!!!!:grouphug:

Yep! :grouphug: If Nebo could figure out how to work FB, then he could join us :lmao:

hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle....

I don't think I'll ever be able to read mother goose again...and it's all your fault.;)

trailer park trash....have you ever watched a little show called "my big fat american gypsy wedding"? It's on TLC.......it will blow your mind.

I'm glad you got a better room!

Just started? 13 pages put my life on hold and now my family is barking at me!!!!!

So if you had a ticker for your next trip, uh, what would it say as of today? Just a tiny bit curious.

I laughed outloud and had to share this with Tim, who I have been begging to log in and read your reports, you two would get along so well. I had to share the line about the suite case and clowns too.

Thanks for the invite, I'll be around, promise.

Great chapter!

I'm just like you, I can't relax until I am at the resort with my room assignment in hand. Most people say they relax as soon as the plane touches down in Orlando but not me! I even sweat going down to Magical Express, worrying that we will just miss a bus to our resort!

Yep, I get the same feeling about the bus, the only thing worsethan a Long line,,, is no line at all,,, meaning you probably just missed a bus!

Great work Smidgy on the room!10 days is a long time to be in a room that you hate. Don't you hate having to play the good/bad CM game each trip. I joke with my wife that I can instantly tell what the check in process is going to be as soon as I lay eyes on the CM "helping" us. I am at 100% accuracy with it!

Again, I know what you're saying, the worst checker-in-er we ever got,,, was an actual manager at French Quarter, who absolutely refused to even attempt to do anything for us, and we couldn't ask to see the manager because he was IT!

45 minutes later,,, we went back and of course, he was gone by now, and the new guy we got gave us the EXACT ROOM we were hoping for,,, I could not have gotten closer if I had requested the actual room number, proving,,, the first guy was a lying sack of sh,,,,,,which I knew from the beginning.

Is that name of that book really "MockingJay"? If so it sounds like something my wife should of written :)

Can't wait for the next installment!!

Jay

Yeah Jay, fraid it is.

our last vacation with the boys as a family, they were 16 and 13 (maybe 14 and17, can't remember) anyway we drove 6 hours to Cedar point in Ohio. once we got to ohio, Nebo let Todd take over the helm.

nebo was basking in the glow of lying across the long seat in the back of the minivan, feet up, mad magazine in his hands. happy camper. Jeremy took over shotgun, and I sat in the backseat.

after a while, NEbo asks, "how;s it going son? tires feel ok? temp. gauge looks good? any problems?"

"no, dad (you could almost HEAR the eye roll) everythings fine."

voice from the gallery: (Jeremy), said nonchalantly, " well, except the gas guage is almost on empty "

nebo leaps up!!! after this next exit, there isn't one for many miles, there isn't enough gas to make it, Todd is in the left lane. nebo is yelling, get over! get over! get off! here!" ttodd"where???!" nebo "here.. RIGHT here!!!"

he made the exit just in time, we found a gas station a ways off a country road. NEbo took over.

"son, part of driving is keeping an eye on the gas tank!" :rotfl:

now sandy, did you mean to post this on Winker's report??
:rolleyes: (sheesh, I feel like the TR monitor)

Yeppers,,, she nailed it. Only thing left out was when we got off the interstate, (80), it was not only almost on empty,,, it WAS on empty, with the little gas pump light lit up on the dashboard,,,, and I didn't know how long that light has been on!
No gas station in sight,,, no TOWNS in sight!
We drove for at least 20 more miles before finally finding a gas station, something like Buckeye Petrol.

This is the kind of humor I love! I haven't had another adult along for the flight to MCO in about 7 years so I never get to share my witty comments with someone who will understand and roll their eyes accordingly.

Ok, I'll come with next time to roll my eyes when you need me to!

I read The Hunger Games too! Loved it!

It's so cheerful and up-lifting, perfect for reading at Disney!

Can't wait to read more of your TR! :3dglasses

Not until the give me back my morphling.

I got it rough when Finding Nemo came out,,, and I didn't have the mean streak to tell Jay that he's ok for now,,, but in two years when the movie comes out, Mocking -JAY is going to be a phrase he screams at twice a day. Can you imagine what it must have been like if your name actually was Elmo, 15 or how many years ago that was? With people sneaking up behind you and suddenly jabbing you in the ribs?

Great Chapter Nebo! Only you can make the flight so interesting.

Yay for Smidgy!!! I can't wait to hear about the room that she scored for you.

Is it just me, or does it almost look as if Smidgy had to do something to "score" that room for "me"?

And you already had to get into the stash? Oh boy. And you didn't want to write a TR about this???

Yeah, silly me, I thought these things were supposed to be about Disney.

I've been back and forth about the Hunger Games books. Upon your recommendation, maybe I'll check them out. :thumbsup2

Oh yes,,, definately, do so. As hard as it is for me to enjoy reading now with these crappy things I have for eyes,,, I could not stop reading them.
Easier to read than Harry, and I'm sure better quality wise than Steph M.

But I think Osama Bin Laden's "100 Favorite Amusing Anecdotes" was a more enjoyable read than the "Twilight" series.

Oh, and thanks for asking---the move will officially happen on Monday of next week. We bought in Plainfield. Maddie and I have been living in a hotel since April 22 (but the first week was a Disney hotel), so it can't come soon enough.

Ah,,, Plainfield,,,, near RT. 59? You are almost due South of us. Way South!

Ya gotta love it. Real people - and real ground crew personnel - know that a few "smooth" pills (as we call them in our family) helps everyone "whistle while they work"

So, you have Smoothies, huh? By the way, I still don't get the joke with your name,,,, please help, or is OhMari pulling my chain again, you can't trust those Cheeseheads!

~~~Dawn
Ha ha, Dawn,,, tornados have been a huge part of Natural Selection ever since the Darwin awards were first celebrated in Vegas, I believe the first winner was Emperor Nero of Rome,,, who was still trying to learn how to play "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" on his fiddle as his city was burning down around him!
Did you find this in that famous children's book we were discussing, Fifty Shades of Grey?
Ha ha,,, Boy, you're not going to let me live that one down, are you? That's ok. I can take a joke.
Forever.:rotfl:
Shrimp shells!
Yes, I'm still the boy who made Ohana's famous!
That's because they all have those big bags you mentioned.
Oh, now that you mention it,,,, we could NOT believe,,,,,TWICE,,,we saw a guy put his humongous carry on in the overhead, and then,,,, the "personal item" that has to be small enough to store under the seat,,,, He would then put THAT huge thing in the overhead as well!
A Chinese or Korean or whatever guy was slow to the uptake on all this,,,and the co-pilot, (who was not God), helped him go through each and every section trying to find a place to store his pretty darn big carry on.
Finally, Bingo,,, success!
Two minutes later,,, same Asian guy is back with yet another huge carry on, expecting another miracle.
This time he lost,,, they weren't playing that game again!
"You'll get this back at the end of the semester!"
Where was I, what was I doing?
Oh, shoot,,, I'm wasting all this stuff and it's not even going in a chapter,,,,, AAARGHHH!!
Just taller?
Well, um,,,, it's Dustin Hoffman,,, what else should it be?
Seems to be the THE book to read at Disney.
Yeppers,,, no doubt it is.
It employs the same time honored formula that goes all the way back to '50's songs like "Tell Laura, I love her" , and of course, "Laurie, (Strange things happen in this World)" , like "Teen Angel" and "Last Kiss",,, that taught us that the only good teenager is a DEAD teenager!
By the way,,, BOTH those "Laura/Laurie songs my buddy Jeff and I sang during a karaoke session one night at the bar where Diane used to work. Laurie is not only sad, but kinda spooky!
Love that movie. I'm too young to say they don't make 'em like that anymore though.
Heck,,,, I"M too young to say that....that was made TEN years before I was even born!
We had a view of that pool a couple years ago. I wasn't thrilled about getting a room in the Ranchos section having been spoiled a few years before that in the Cabanas building closest to the lobby but it turned out to be pleasant.
SO,,,, it's because of YOU that now the bathroom has to remain locked at all times now?,,,, HMMM?
Lucky you with the room!
Great chapter Nebo! Thanks!
I don't get anything though, do I?
Hey,,,,, you!
Sorry,, don't remember your name,
or if you told me your name,
or if you even HAVE a name!
ok,,, the only thing that comes through is that you like to eat.
(crap,,, I just lost another reader,,, didn't I?)
No, no,,, I mean I think I met you from the Dining reviews thread,,,,Yeah,,, that's it!
Andyway,,,, and this is the truth,,,,
sometimes you have to be a bit forceful when checking in,,, this time it took us two efforts to get what we needded,,, and believe me,,, it was definately worth it.
But still,,,, the most important thing to remember at all times is,,,,
be nice.
And if you can't be nice,,,
go and sit by the pool and let Smidgy take care of it!
Yay!! For once I am not signing on at the END of a Nebo/Smidgy TR... :cool1:
I am very excited to be along for the ride. You two always crack me up!!
I'm pretty sure I've never put my real name in a post, so there was nothing for you to forget. My name is Jill and I am a Disney-holic. (I thought it was weird to just write my name is Jill and leave it at that... not that it's not true, I am a Disney-holic). You can't get rid of me that easily! I do love to eat, so you didn't say anything that isn't true. And yes, I found your dining reviews which then led me to the TRs, which I don't normally read. But I couldn't resist, your stories are too good to miss!
I will remember that next time at check in. And if it still doesn't work, I'll just start inviting you and Smidgy to come with us. :dance3:
Another great Nebo chapter!!! Glad you wound up getting a great room! I agree, I can't relax until we have gotten our room #. My biggest fear is getting to the check in desk at the resore, with the entire package paid for, and having the CM say to me "I'm sorry, Ma'am, We don't show any reservations for you.":scared1:
Waiting impatiently for the next chapter....
