So DS-2.5 has a peanut allergy. I have heard about the "allergy" chicken nuggets etc - but do the basic kids meals- chicken nuggets, cheese pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs - have nuts in them or is there a cross contamination issue or are they possibly safe?
We eat out regularly and have never had a problem with any of these kinds of items when we discuss his allergy with the severs/chef etc.
We want to be as safe as possible - but we also want to avoid the meltdowns that occur when he can't have the same things as his big sister.
Just wondering if any peanut allergy people have been recently and could help.

Thanks so much for everything!

I haven't been there since last summer but in all my trips, the items you mention were safe for peanut/tree nut. There was once some cheese crackers (like goldfish crackers but with mickey head shape) that were "may contains." We substituted regular chips. My son doesn't do kids meals now so I don't know what is always served with them - but you do have to check it out.

I think you should go ahead and tell the person taking your order, before you order, that your child has an allergy. They'll call a manager over for you. Downside is that everyone behind you gets to wait a little longer - oh joy! I try to eat meals a little early to avoid crowds.

Thank you so much! We have booked a lot of TS meals to make things simpler - but we will have some CS meals. I am definitely going to talk with the manager/get the binder and do what needs to be done, but I am hopeful he can have some of the regular kids stuff!
We also strictly avoid "may contain."
I know both kids are going to be pumped at getting some of those enjoy life cookies!
Thank you so much for the info!

As far as I know, most of the CS kids meals are safe for peanut allergies. The only issue might be desserts. I'm not entirely sure though because I wanst diagnosed with my allergies until I was a teenager so I was not eating kids meals at that point. And that trip I was allergic to peanuts, eggs and shellfish so most would have been off limits anyway because of eggs.

I do know that at most CS and TS at that time, the peanuts were very rarely an issue....it was more the egg that was an issue for me.

Most of the packaged stuff in the candy stores will have a "may contain" warning for peanuts (the fresh treats and the packaged things like cookies).

Oh...and just an FYI...the allergy chiken tenders...sooooo much better than the regular. But they do take longer and can be hard to find.

I'm not a kid but I went this past december with about a dozen allergies and I ate soooooooo well. They are amazing with it.

from what happened with grandson, watch the bread on table at TS. all were off limits to grandson, not sure why but i think it was peanut oil in the bread. i was usually at other end of table with the younger brother so i could not hear all that was said. it was on the table even with the allergry on ressie, so be prepared to make everyone wait on eating the bread until chef comes to table.

Its not peanut oil. Disney owned restaurants dont use peanut oil.

The problem with the bread in a lot of places is cross contamination because the bread is not always made in house. A lot of times it is brought in from a bakery and the chefs are usually not 100% about possible cross onctamination since it wasnt made in their kitchen
