CS Problem at Pop this Past Week

What I don't get is for the people defending the CM on this...who is to say that the OP wasn't using 4 of her own personal CS meal credits at that time. It does say that she can use 'your own' in any way you want - so, maybe this was OP's own 4 credits she wanted to use...and none of the other family members.

If Disney says she can use them all at once if so desired...she should be able to do 4 at once.

Sure so long as Mom is very hungry and eats all of the four meals herself--otherwise it is "transferring creidts" which isn't allowed--I think that is the point--each person gets a set of credits and may use them as he or she wishes throughout the vacation--only thing that gets sticky is if Mom wants to use her credits to feed Dad and the kiddos she is "transferring credits" same goes if a family uses all C CS one day for a family of 2 C and 2 A--it is transferring credits. Now if I want to order a CS burger meal and after I finish I am still hungry and go get another one it won't be a problem--other than I might burst! If I want to eat at CP for breakfast and then late lunch at Cosmic Rays and very late meal at the resort food court no one is going to have a problem with the way I use "my" credits--when I choose to order 4A CS for a family of 2A and 2C all at once it should reject it since it would be "transferring credits"

BTW I am sooo glad we are all considered adults so I do not have to deal with this!:hippie:

Well, yes...if you were very VERY hungry...I guess you could manage to use 6 TS credits in one day! But I bet the whole next day you'd be in bed, with a horrible bellyache
Well, okay - that'd take care of one more day of food (i.e. not being ABLE to eat anything) so, now I'd only need to stretch those three remaining CS credits and six snacks over three days. This is sounding more and more possible.... ;)

i had this *exact* same problem at the CS place in mexico and my card only said 2A (no kids) and i wanted 3 meals (we wanted two sampler meals and a nachos which is a meal on the DDP) and got quite the argument... it was VERY frustrating... i was told i could have all three if i got on line twice (so i should wait on line while my first order goes cold?) i calmly explained that i could order all TWENTY of my CS meals right then and there and feed them to the birds if i was so inclined and was repeatedly told NO I COULDN'T when i know for a fact that i could... not only did a manager get involved but he called someone and they got involved... i was finally permitted to have my three meals!

Yes, you can use your counter service credits 'any way you want' and no, they're not separated like the table service credits are and yes, you could use them all in one day if you want. BUT - not all at one meal.

If your documentation (room key) indicates you have two adults and two children on the Disney Dining Plan, you can get up to two adult counter service meals and two child counter service meals at one transaction.

Stating one's case, calmly or insistently or in any other way does NOT change the rules of the DDP. Yes, a Manager made an exception for you, but it WAS an exception.

see my incident above and tell me if an exception was made? 'cause i honestly thought i could have all 20 if i wanted them... that's not true?
please and thank you :)

Of course you can't do that -- unless, of course the birds are on your room reservation, otherwise it's sharing credits with those who are not on your plan! :rotfl2:

No, seriously...they made an "exception" for you in the sense that this is the only way Disney can currently enforce the CS adult credits being used for adult meals and kids' credits being used for kids' meals, until they figure out how to separate the adult and child CS credits and nobody can cheat the system anymore. Even then, they'll have the concern that some people might use their credits to purchase meals for people (or birds ) not on their room reservation. That is also against the rules, because Disney prices the plan counting on that some people will have unused, non-refundable credits left over at the end of their stay.

But it's not the same kind of monetary loss as inexpensive kids' credits being used for adult meals. Suppose a family with 2A and 2C ate at Pepper Market for dinner every day for 5 days. Each time the kids were supposed to order a child's meal valued at the most $4.75, but instead they ordered the ribeye steak for $18.95 (yeah an extreme example, but this is only an example). So every day, that's 14.20 per kid, 28.40/day times 5 days... that's $142...times however many families do this...

Now I plan on ordering 2 combo meals at CosmicRays to share with 2 adults, 2 adult kids and 1 kid. Tell me theres nos problem with that??They don't care if you share,do they? Just that you don't order more adult or child meals than are listed on the card , Right???

For a second there .. I was worried we might be watching a cage match ...

"Kaytie Vs. Katie -- Battle of the Kayties! -- This Sunday on the DIS - sunday! Sunday! SUNDAY!! BE THERE SUNDAY!"

:)

Seriously tho - this is very confusing to wrap my head around. I'm one of those people who looks at numbers and my head spins like that girl in The Exorcist. :scared:

If you are going to Cosmic Rays and only ordering 2 combo meals and you have 4 adults and 1 child on your Key Card you will be fine. If you are going to later try to use 4 child credits all at once then you'll have a problem.

Oh, not at all :rotfl2: Although we've discussed many different scenarios from many different angles here, I believe Kaytie and I are both firmly on the same side of this issue: there wouldn't be a problem at all if people would be honest and stop trying to use children's credits to purchase adult meals.

AND if you bought park admissions for them.

AbsoLUTEly! But how boring would this thread be if Katie posted something and I just responded "ITA" or "You're right"? :teeth:

OK...but wait. What if...the birds were all under the age of three? Then they'd still have to be on her room reservation, but they wouldn't require a park ticket OR the purchase of the DDP. She could share with them. She could even share with them at a buffet.

LOL @ the birds...

seriously though, i had NO children on my ressie/card key/etc... we were 2A... that's what the card said... and i wanted three of MY adult meals all at the same time to gorge on all by my pooh-sized self... i couldn't have that?

ironically that was the *only* trip where we ran out of credits before we ran out of time in the World and had to go OOP for meals... (but i doubt it was from feeding the birds! :rotfl: )

Yes, you should be able to, because you are supposed to be allowed to use your credits in any order, in any amount. However, right now...the only way they have to enforce that you aren't buying meals for people not on the plan, or buying adult meals with kids' credits is to limit you to the maximum # of guests on your card. In your case, it wasn't an issue of kids' credits at all, but probably more to ensure that you weren't buying a CS meal for someone not on your plan. And even if it was obvious that you weren't, if they institute a rule like that, it has to apply to everyone. But I do understand your point ::yes:: -- this method of "enforcement", while Disney has decided is necessary, does contradict the information in the DDP brochure.

The best way to avoid the problem? Have each member of your party stand in line and order separately. Or if one is scouting out and saving a table, then have one person order the max they can on the card, sit down and eat, then have one member of the party go up to get something more if you still want it (you may not, by then). Yeah, it's a bit of a hassle, but less hassle than an embarrassing 10 minute public argument that questions your integrity and honesty with a CS manager who is just following orders from management.
