We are staying at the Beach Club (our first visit to this resort) for a low key Labor Day weekend this year (possibly no parks, we're DVC so go fairly often) and I'm reviewing our ADRs. I somehow overlooked the CS options and am starting to get a little concerned. DH eats vegetarian and fish only, there don't seem to be many options near the BC for him. Am I missing something? :confused3 What else is easy to get to aside from Boardwalk Bakery and Hurricane Hannah's??

There really isn't all that many choices in that area..Hurricaine hannahs, the marketplace, The BW bakery is about it

Hmm, thanks. What about getting to DTD or another resort? Would I need to go through one of the parks? This is our first leisurely trip so I've never come across this before. :upsidedow

BC Marketplace along with the ones you already mentioned. Other than that, there aren't that many CS locations in the BC area.

To get to another resort, you would take the bus from a park or DTD. You don't need to enter the park to use the buses there.

There are CS restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin. They are, however, not participants on the DP.

OK thanks. It's a 4 night trip so we'll just make do, I just wanted to know the options. :goodvibes

Are you on the dining plan? If not, try Picabu's Buffeteria at the Dolphin. It's not cheap but they do give DVC members a discount.

If you are on the dining plan, you're probably best off walking into Epcot to eat CS, if you have tickets that will allow you to do that. If you don't have tickets, you'd probably need to go to another resort or resort area to find what you are looking for.

I am a vegetarian aswell and we stayed at the BC in January. I actually really like the Veggie Wrap at Hurricane Hannah's. They also have a "salad bar" at the Marketplace which was good. We did most of our Random CS at the World Showcase since it is so close.
I think Wolfgang Puck Express and Earl of Sandwhich at DTD are both great CS options aswell.

We liked Hurricane Hanna's and I thought the veggie wrap was really good. If you have kids, the kids' meals come in a sand pail with a shovel. Too cute!!

As the others have said, there just isn't too much in the way of CS in the YC/BC area. If you have park hoppers, I would visit WS for some international CS.

We are on the dining plan. The pail sounds like something my dd4 would love! We don't have hoppers or an annual pass. I think the salad bar sounds like a fine option, the focus will be on the pool and relaxing anyway, not lunch!

Thank you for the info!! :goodvibes

Can your DH eat clam chowder? Beach club marketplace sells bowls of really good clam chowder. I would also ask the staff at the counter about a vegetarian sandwich option cause the sandwiches are made to order (don't think there is an actual veg sandwich but you never know). Also you can walk over to the pizza window at Boardwalk and get a slice of cheese pizza. We usually order a whole pizza so its really fresh.

Fourth trip to BC was last week.....

I am not a vegetarian BUT I LOVED the wrap at Hurricane Hanna's....

Remember....you have ALL OF THE BOARDWALK OPTIONS to choose from.... it's a simple walk over there...

I'm not sure what has CS options....BUT.... ESPN, FLying FIsh, Boardwalk Bakery, Kouzzinas (Breakfast and dinner only) but there are a LOT of options in walking distance...

DOn't discount the BC marketplace... they have a "make your own salad" and their menu is good.... I LOVED their Roast Beef with Brie sandwich...know that 's not 'veggie' but they have some options as well...plus room service...

Have a magical visit!

The Beach Club is my absolute favorite resort. The location is unbeatable, and the Epcot area has such an indescribably wonderful feeling. There is one flaw: an overall lack of counter service restaurants. The Beach Club Marketplace is serviceable, but it does not compare to places like the Contempo Cafe, Captain Cook's or The Mara.

The best option is to take the short walk to the International Gateway and grab a quick meal in the World Showcase, but I see you're not planning to visit the parks this trip. There are a bunch of places around the BoardWalk that are worth trying, but it's more table service.

We stayed at the Beach Club last August for 3 weeks and loved it - one of our favourite CS meals to get when we were having a pool day was for one of us to go into Epcot and brings fish and chips back from the England CS.

I know it's not CS but Beaches & Cream do a really good veggie burger (they don't take ADRs)
Make sure you save room for ice cream :cool1:

Since we both want to lose weight the salad sounds like a great lunch option, thanks!

We've only ever stayed (while on the dining plan) at Bay Lake and AKV so Contempo Cafe and Mara are what we're used to (and enjoy).

Always a good alternative as well! :thumbsup2

These are more than enough options, I can always find everything here. Thank you!!

you have ALL OF THE BOARDWALK OPTIONS to choose from

For CS on DDP, you really don't - none of the kiosks on the boardwalk accept DDP, nor does the pizza window. The bakery does.

I personally recommend the grilled veggie panini at the boardwalk bakery!

Also, the ESPN club has a great grilled veggie sandwich. We've stayed at BWV and picked it up as a take-away for a late dinner.
