We are staying at the Poly in July and was wondering which of the monorail resorts has the best CS meals for adults and kids? Thanks for any info.

We ate at Contempo Cafe and we were not fans. The menu is pretty limited and the flatbread was not good. I think I would stick to the Poly.

I know everyone has their own opinions but I happened to think the Contempo Cafe was very good for counter service. You really have to look at the menus of each place to see what you would like since they all have something different to offer.

What about the GF CS? We have never been to the GF and thought we would resort hop and check it out possibly having a quick lunch.

My family loves Capt. Cook's at the Polynesian. The food is very good and so are the portions. Plus you can get Tonga Toast there for breakfast! :thumbsup2

I agree with Capt'n Cooks we go there a few times during our WDW vacation for breakfast. Got to have that Tonga Toast. But this is the place you are staying.

The Poly has the best CS of all the monorail/MK resorts in my opinion. If you are going to other resorts just for the food, eh. If you are looking to see other resorts and hang out while eating a CS meal, go into it knowing that.
If you are looking for a decent meal/change of scenery, you can take the boat from the MK over to Fort Wildnerness and eat at Trail's End.

I think the Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary is a great location. My favorite items on their menu is the Chicken Ceasar Salad, (with the dressing tossed on) Pepperoni Flatbread Pizza and the Spice Crusted Mahi Sandwich. Plus on Saturday's their Soup Of The Day is Corn Chowder and it tastes amazing.

I like the Contempo Cafe better than Cap'n Cooks, more to my liking for lunch I guess, love the Mahi sandwich. I have eat at GF cs once, but really did enjoy the Italian sub, didn't really like the atmosphere though, the arcade was in the dinning area.

As a family, we liked Cap'n Cooks best. Contempo is okay, but didn't appeal to my kids at all. GF was very limited.

When we stayed at the Poly in October we did just that. We really enjoyed it. Gasparilla Grill had very good sandwiches, a nice variety of baked goods for dessert and you could get a smoothy as you drink choice with the dining plan. It was nice checking out the GF and there was hardly anyone else in the restaurant, so it was a nice relaxing break.

We also really enjoyed CC's at Poly too!

All the monorail CS options are pretty good.

Contempo Cafe is great overall - love the marinated beef flatbread, chicken caesar salad, turkey BLT, hot turkey sandwich, and roast beef sandwich. For breakfast, I love the bounty platter, as well as the waffles with banana and caramel.

I love the grilled chicken sandwich at Gasparilla's at GF. Also the fattoush salad is interesting. The problem with Gasparilla's is that it's literally in the same room as the arcade, so it's usually noisy. On the upside, you can see Cinderella Castle from most of the outside tables.

Captain Cook's has noodle bowls and some sandwiches/flatbreads. I like it most for the dole whips. It also has tonga toast for breakfast, but I think it's too heavy and sugary.

For lunch, I thought CR had a better variety than Poly.
For b-fast, Poly has the advantage of Tonga Toast. Of course, you can't eat that every day....can you? :rolleyes1
