I am staying at the Contemporary Resort in early August. What close counter service places do you recommend for Dinner that are close. Because our little princess (7) princess: with her special needs doesn't do well in the afternoons and evenings, all but one of our ADRs are Breakfast and Lunch. The initial plan was to eat all our dinners at the Contemporary CS location, but then I realized I was on the Monorail and could probably easily hit some others without having a temper tantrum getting back.

What do you all recommend for Dinner CS locations?

Even though we have Park Hopper, I suspect the Magic Kingdom CS locations are not a good choice, since I would most definately have a temper tantrum trying to get her back to the resort. So I was thinking about the Magic Kingdom Resorts as possible locations.

The Poly has Captain Cook's and the GF has Gasparilla Grill and Games; there's also Roaring Fork at the WL which is a short boat ride away. We are also staying at the CR in early August and will have a couple of suppers at the Contempo Cafe...our son is on the autistic spectrum, so I imagine what we will do is get our food to go from the Contempo. Mainly because DS loves Chef M's and you can see its signage from the Contempo. I'm like you, head off the meltdown before it happesn. ;) We were unable to get dinner at Chef M's the entire week, but we did get breakfast there the day we leave.
Something else to consider is paying out of pocket for Trail's End buffet at Ft. Wilderness - it's fairly affordable for a TS. Hope this helps. :)

I have been to the Contempo Cafe, Captin Cook's and Gasparilla's Grill & Games and while they are all very good, my favorite had to be the Contempo Cafe. It's got a great atmosphere being on the 4th floor and right next door to Chef Mickey's. My personal favorite thing to order from there is the Chicken Ceasar Salad with the dressing already inside and I have to say that was the best Salad I ever had in my life. Also it's not like your typical counter service salad that is taken out of a fridge, because at the Contempo Cafe it's always made fresh each time you order it. Anyway here are links to the menus of the three locations at the Monorail Resorts so you can see what they offer.

You're welcome and yes the Flatbread Pizza's at the Contempo Cafe are also great and something you must have.

I am not really sure I can handle 7 dinners in the Contempo CS restaurant. What one of those others is worth the trip?

Did you take a look at the menus? The best thing is to see what you like from the menus and if you think its worth the trip or not you can go. Personally i think all 3 resorts have something i would like after looking at the menus

We really liked Capt Cook's at the Poly and you can get Dole Whips for dessert, a big plus in my book.

My vote goes to Captain Cook's at the Poly. I actually try to sqeeze in a visit to that one every trip, even though I'm not staying there. Everything I've tried so far has been good. I especially love the chips that come with their sandwiches. Add Dole Whips for dessert, and YUM! :goodvibes

I LOVE those chips! The Aloha Pork sandwiches are HUGE and yummy.

Well since your staying at the Contemporary your a Monorail ride away from the Polynesian and Grand Floridian, so at least you won't have far to go and you can try out all the locations.
