CS "Dessert" ... examples?

I have a question about the "dessert" that you can get with a CS meal. Many of the menus list cheesecake and/or brownie. It lists whole fruit as a "snack". Can you routinely ask for the fruit as your dessert?

Also, does anybody know what kind of breakfast offering the ASSp food court offers? Do they have a breakfast platter?

Sorry, another question about CS and the DP. Do you get a beverage with your meal or is it only with a combo meal that includes the beverage. Is the beverage a fountain drink or can it be a bottled drink (soda or water)?

For instance, can you get a sandwich with bottled water and apple?

Thanks for helping me understand how the CS thing works.

What is offered for dessert depends solely on the CS restaurant you are eating at. If fruit is listed on the menu, it's available for dessert. Also, because most places has grapes as a side for kids CS meals, we have been sucessful in getting them for our dessert - but it is the same size cup that comes with the kids meal.

Whether you order a combo or a sandwich (or other single entree), a drink is included with your cs meal.

I can't answer specifically about ASSports having a breakfast platter but since the other All Star resorts offer them, it's a safe be that they do too.

Thanks ... I'm not a big dessert eater and so am hoping for some low calorie/healther options. If they have fruit, then I could always eat it as a snack later in the day.

DH and I got fruit as our dessert at POR food court last year and you can probably do the same at Sports. It makes a good breakfast/ snack as you mentioned. Haven't stayed at Sports since '06, but they had a breakfast platter then. We didn't get it so I don't know what was on it. They also have a bakery where you can get breakfast pastries. DD loved the banana bread for breakfast.:thumbsup2

Not always. Sept '06 we went into Columbia Harbour House. My diabetic mom looked for us a table while me and my husband ordered. The only adult dessert they had that day was listed as chocolate cake, so I planned to just order my mom the grapes off the kids menu. The lady across the register that was ordering just before me, apparently had the same idea. As she started to order, she just casually said she wanted the grapes for her meal, instead of the cake. The CM quickly told her that was not an option for adults, only kids. She argued with him to no avail. When it was my turn, I told him I had a problem as my mom was a diabetic and couldn't have the cake. I offered to go get her insulin to show him, if that would make a difference. He winked, said 'no problem', and left his stool to personally go to the counter behind him to tell the CM there to give my mom grapes for her meal. I don't know if it was really a rule or if he just didn't like the other lady's attitude, but the adults in her party were not allowed the fruit, cake was their only option

fyi, since you can't get dessert with breakfast its a better value to use counter service credits for lunch or dinner...

We got two drinks included when we used a CS at breakfast last year, it made using a credit for breakfast a bit more worthwhile. Is that still the case this year?

We did find that in some CS locations (ie. Columbia Harbor House), we were able to order yogurt as a dessert.

Thought I'd let you know, just in case they didn't have any fruit, the yogurt is good also.

I'd ask them to check with the manager if this still happens - everywhere we went that had fruit available they had no trouble letting you take fruit as dessert. (I think quite a lot has changed since September 2006, actually.) We were there just last week (5/19-5/25/2008) and saw many people getting fruit on the DDP. The other option that is available at some counter services is Frozen Minute Maid lemonade which is wonderful on a hot day. Daughter subbed a milkshake for dessert at a couple of places, too.
