CS breakfast options?

We were just in WDW in October, on the dining plan, and ended up with excess CSs on the last day.

We are going again at Christmas, and I would really like to use some CSs for breakfast to alleviate this, but I am not very aware of what CS options for breakfast exist.

The best locations would be the 4 parks, Boardwalk, and Coronado Springs (where we will be staying).

I don't really want to use my TS for breakfast!

as best as i can tell, your options would be:

Animal Kingdom Tusker House

MGM ABC Commissary

Epcot Electric Umbrella
Fountainview Cafe

MK Main Street Bakeshop

CS Pepper Market

In addition to the list above:

Starring Rolls at MGM has breakfast pastries - yummy!

Epcot - Sunshine Seasons (in The Land) offers a full breakfast selection (platters, pastries, sandwiches, etc)

Thanks! I have heard of the Pepper Market, but never been. We enjoyed Tusker House & Sunshine Seasons for lunch last time, so hopefully breakfast will be good also. Starring Rolls sounds good, I think I will try it.

That leaves my MK day, maybe that is the day I will go to the Pepper Market.

At Magic Kingdom - Main Street Bakery is very good. You can get 2 items plus a drink for your CS credit. The french toast loaf and cinnamon roll are excellent and raved about! The Pepper Market is also a good choice, lots of selection!

I am planning to use my CS at Pepper Market. From what I have read it is great. I like to eat a good breakfast, snack during the day, and eat table service for dinner.
My kids want to go straight to a ride when we get a park, so we try to eat breakfast at the hotel in the morning. This is one reason we like the hotels with a good food court. I hope Pepper market works out.

We're going to DTD on our last day and since we'll also have leftover CS credits, we're going to use them for breakfast at Wolfgang Puck Express. I've heard that their breakfast pizzas are great. We'll see....

We have used our CS credits for breakfast at the pepper market and felt it was a good deal. We got the breakfast platter which included the usual, plus a muffin on the side and coffee. We would do it again. We just asked the CM what was included using the CS credits. We did not have mugs so got coffee as our beverage, but imagine if you have mugs, you could get juice as your beverage and coffee in your mugs. We plan to do this again in the future because during our last two trips (Aug 06 and Oct 06) we did have a difficult time using the CS credits, so now are trying to change our game plan for our next trip in Feb. 07. We also think we are going to do a couple of our TS for lunch instead of dinner, because being tied to a TS dinner every single night gets to be very restricting. This was the third time this year we've used the DDP and decided we needed to make some changes to our future plans. We still think it's an excellent deal and will continue to buy it, we just need to tweak the way we use it. This last trip (returned last weekend) we had 12 snack credits 2 days before the end of our trip, so hit the candy store in MK and got lots of gifts to bring home. We were surprise how much you can get now.

I am going shortly and using the DDP for the first time. How do you know what snacks are available?
Do they give you this info when you arrive?

Just wondering......

The snacks are tough. Some places have the purple ddp marking next to the price, while others do not. All you can do is ask. The front desk at WL did not have a clue about the snacks and they are not listed in the brochure. Most snack kiosks (ice cream, nuts, soda) have the ddp on their sign. Food courts are tough because you have to ask. Pop century's food court was one of the better ones which marked everything that is considered a snack including donuts and chips and liter bottles of soda. We went to the candy store at MK and it was hard. One CM said $4.00 and below, while another CM said $3.99. One ringing up the order said no to the peanut brittle at $4.00 and rang it and it went through. We got fudge (a piece)(bought 6) and was told no to candy apples (red), then daughter got a carmel apple and that rang up. I guess if you use them daily, you won't run into a problem like us, but we are DVC members, so we have snacks and water, sodas, pastries in our room, so don't use the snack credits for this stuff--most ice cream, especially Mrs. Potts sudaes. I guess the guide for using snacks is the $4.00 mark.

Thanks for the advice. After I looked a little more last night, I found a post that had all the snacks listed.
It was a huge list, so I am going to modify it to what I think we will need.
thanks again

OMG I am dreaming of french toast loaf!!! We used 2 CS credits for all 4 of us for breakfast because you get 2 items. It gets crowded, but the line moves quickly, and its a great way to start the day in the MK!!

DOes starring rolls let you have 2 breakfast items and a drink for a cs credit like the main street bakery does?

Thanks! Yvonne

I'm not sure, we didn't try that. Never hurts to ask though!

The breakfast burrito at Pepper Market is delicious and HUGE!!! DH and I split it and it was more than enough for the two of us. I think it came with potatoes and a drink.

Could you use a child's CS credit and also get the two baked items and a drink since there is no child's menu?

Me too the french toast loaf....

Good question, but I'm not sure. When we were there the credits were pooled, and they never asked. But unless they have a seperate children's menu, I think they'd have to let you have it.

I will try to outline what we did at CSR (we were on the free meal plan the past two Septembers). We would get up real early, and I'd head over to Pepper Market right at opening time. I'd either get one meal (one time I might have gotten two) and one or two bakery items. This was enough to feed our family of three. Then many mornings we had a late morning Character Breakfast (I paid for one, used the plan for the rest). Character Breakfasts are cheap enough I don't mind paying for one or two even if I am on the meal plan.

I would actually encourage you to do the late morning breakfasts. You won't need any more food until dinner time, thus saving a bunch of time in the middle of the day. It also allowed us to hit an early opening park and then vamoose to a quieter park or our room for a mid-day nap.

One last thing, don't overlook the Pepper Market for dinner. I had the best "food court" prime rib I have ever eaten there. It would have cost over $20 but with the meal plan it was free.
