Well, even though I've been to WDW a zillion times, in making my itinerary, I realized dh and I have NEVER eaten CS at MGM - we usually just do sitdown - Sci Fi or Brown Derby. I'm actually really shocked at myself for that. We're going to be on the dining plan and want to have CS there.

So, I need recommendations pls. Where do you like, why and what do you get. And we have dining plan so let me know what we're allowed.

Thanks - I can't wait to read your responses!

CS at MGM is very weak. I would recomment Toluga Turkey Legs or Starring Rolls. They carry the HBD cobb salad at lunch.

Agree... counter service pretty much stinks at mgm... I usually end up getting a frozen lemonade to hold me over until we get someplace else

We've only eaten at the Backlot Express. It's burgers and hot dogs and stuff. They taste like any burger/hot dog you get at any other CS around the world.

CS is pretty weak, but we've enjoyed Backlot Express - good turkey sandwich, grilled veg sand, burgers, etc. I've also been reading about Flatbread Grill (formerly Studio Catering Co,) pork sandwich, greek salad, grilled chicken. If you're like me _ I get real tired of burgers & checken strips!!! :goodvibes

just looking up abc commissary and noticed fish & chips.. Anyone ever try that there?? :confused3

For CS we did enjoy ABC commissary, not fine dining but certainly adequate. Hear lots of raves over Pizza planet, We always do starring rolls for breakfast love their pastries, and this trip I want to try Herbie's drive in.

I agree that Starring Rolls has awesome pastries. What's Herbie's Drive In? Is it new? I don't recall seeing it in May or ever reading about it.

We have enjoyed the backlot express every time. The food has always been good there and we have never had a complaint from anyone. They have seating indoors and also under a covered area right out side the side entrance to Indiana Jones. :sunny:

I had them last year and thought they were good, hot and fresh. We all enjoyed our meals @ ABC Commissary. I would visit there again.

With my meal as stated above I had a lge soft drink and strawberry parfait, as did DD with her veggie noodle stir fry (which I don't think she liked), DH had the cheeseburger w/fries (pretty standard) which he said he liked and the haagen dazs bar, which he loved with a large soda, all on the dining plan. I thought the parfait was a bit different with the small blueberry muffin on the top, but I liked it.

We went when they first opened and there were just a few people there, but the flood gates opened fairly quickly with dozens of folks in line within about 30min. There are a lot of negative comments about it here on the DIS, but seems like the folks I saw enjoyed it well enough, though I did not dine with them personally.
