We have ordered the allergy friendly (for us no dairy is the biggie) many times at TS restaurants and character meals...

Anyone know if you can order them at counter service hotel restaurants?

TIA! :goodvibes

They made 10 of them for my son at Captain Cooks in the Poly in March '10. It took a little while... but they were fabulously gracious about it. The chef from Kona came down and hand delivered them to him.

We also have got them at Captain Cook's for our daughter. I thought they tasted better this year (I usually steal one).

Thanks! Poly was great about food allergies when we were there in 2010 as well! Leaning toward a stay there with the right discount :)

We've also gotten them at Pop, POFQ and SSR (at SSR we got a giant one vs the small ones we got at the other resorts).

Hooray!!! :dance3:

DH loves POLY, but has been logging for more of a budget trip... So I lost my bargaining chip, but can make DD and DH happy!

Our absolute favourite CS place to get allergy safe food in all of WDW is the Pop food court. Does that help? If you want the queen beds instead of full (POFQ now has queens), the chefs at POFQ are wonderful but they just don't have nearly as many options available to them as the chefs at Pop. At POR my experience from walking over there a few times during our stays at POFQ is that the chefs try just as hard as the others but they seem to not have as many allergy alternatives as other resorts. I don't know why. We didn't try to get waffles there but I could have sworn I read a dining report lately from somebody who was unble to get them there which really surprised me since I thought every resort CS had them available.

We have stayed at Pop twice and were impressed with the allergy service as well. DD did not eat waffles then as she is very apprehensive to try new foods.

It is good to know about POFQ as DS wants to stay there, but I think in reality it will come down to pop, poly, or a dvc rental at AKL, but their allergy food selection is minimal at best.

Thanks! :)

I've read very polar allergy reviews of Mara at AKL. We're considering a few day stay at AKV next year (DVC rental also) but if we do then we'll be trying out all the TS restaurants (I don't travel to resorts for TS meals so this would be our only chance to try them) and them just eating in the room plus a bit in the parks. We'd need a 1br minimum for our family (we need 3 beds minimum) so we'd have a full kitchen. That's just what I'd consider a requirement for us to stay there. Just like when we recently stayed at YC I knew CS at the resort just wasn't an option.

It is so sad that the Epcot resorts have such limited CS service. My kids both loved AKL and beg to go back. We are likely only getting a studio, although 3 beds is ideal for us. We are splurging on a 1br and branching out with a stay at beach dvc.

Have a great time at AKL! It is a beautiful resort and DH and I loved Boma, but we were there without the kids, but I am sure they are great with allergies.
