Crystal Palace?

Do I *need* to make reservations? Is this so popular that if I even hope to get in I need to place them now? Or can we just go and hope for the best?

The way I look at making an ADR is
If you make one and did nor need it you have not really lost anything but the cost of a phone call
If you don't make one and find you really needed one you may lose out on the experience all together, so I always make the ADR.

I generally spend a week or two laying out a loose schedule of which parks we will go to on which days and then fit in at least one restaurant for a TS meal each day and then make one call to WDW DINING and make all my ADRs at once. I'm usually on the phone for less then 10 minutes, sometimes less then 5 minutes.

I have found that planning, but not overplanning, is essential to a calm and realxing vacation.

Good Idea. But no one has said what time they'd like to get to the park, or which park we're doing on which day. Which really makes it hard. I figure we'l go to MK on the 10th.

We're doing Epcot on the 11th and plan on hitting Biergarten after 1:30 so we can see the show.

So I imagine based on that we could plan on getting a reservation for 1-ish at Crystal Palace as well.

IF you make a reservatin and need to change it, how easy/hard is it to do?

changing a reservation time/date is not hard at all...

but, it is always good to have one, as the other poster said.

however, everytime that i have been to crystal palace, it has been pretty packed.

A good rule of thumb is that if a particular location for a meal is important to you, you do need to plan your day ahead of time and make an ADR. If the location is a "nice but not necessary" part of your trip, then wing it.

I just never ever assume that we'll get a walk-up at any table service restaurant -- I've seen too many people turned away!

We eat at CP every trip, including our visit two weeks ago. We never make reservations in advance. When we enter MK in the morning, I go right to CP and make lunch reservations. Prime time, around noon, is generally booked, but we never have trouble getting a late time like after 2pm. So we just have a snack mid-morning and then a late lunch. There is just no way for us to know 3 months in advance what park we will visit on what day.

So if you must eat lunch at a certain time, book in advance, but if your schedule is flexible you'll be fine without advance booking.

The past two times we've eaten at CP we've never had an ADR. We just went there around 11:00 a.m., they put our name on a list, and both times we were seated within 20 minutes.

This is a little OT, but I really like the salmon and mashed potatoes they serve there. I also like the meat at the carving station with the demiglace sauce. Yummm.

We were there the beginning of November and they were turning people away. They said there were all booked up for the evening. We had ADRs for every table service meal, but found that at almost all of the Dining Plan restaurants we ate at, there were no other seating times available. I was very glad that I had taken the time to plan ahead or a lot of time would been wasted trying to find somewhere to eat.

But how do I make a reservation for it??? I'm looking at the main page at Disney but don't see where it says to call to make reservations.

Dh said we can eat there!!! Figure 1pm should be a decent time. I hope!

Never mind, found it! And we have reservations for the 10th!!! Yeah!

it's a little later then I'd like for lunch, 2:25, but we can deal with it. And we can always go by and see if they've got an opening to get in earlier.
