Are there any other reasons, besides the characters, to have lunch at Crystal Palace? This appears to be the only character meal that features the Pooh characters, so that's a plus, but not sure if there is another positive aspect of dining there?

For instance, at Chef Mickey's, I've heard the food is pretty good and they do a lot for the kids when it's their birthday, and at Garden Grill, there's the special feature that the restaurant rotates. And at other character meals, there are other draws, such as CRT (its location in the castle) and Liberty Tree Tavern (good food).

However, from what I've heard about Crystal Palace, the food is not that great, the restaurant can get loud, the kids' buffet is sadly lacking in choices, and character interaction is iffy. So, besides being able to see Pooh up close and personal, any other reason we should dine at Crystal Palace?

TIA!

Well I cant say for lunch, but at breakfast everything is fantastic. And compared to other character meals.. I dont think Crystal Palace is extremely noisy. Great character interaction.

Hope that helps a little.

Hi! We loved the CP for lunch. We booked the 1st seating after breakfast ended, so it was great timing, it was empty, and the characters sat with our kids for awhile, we got photos, & autographs. The food was good when we were there, and it was relaxing. When we were leaving, the crowd was just starting to pour in.

We had lunch at Crystal Palace and loved it!! Everything was so fresh and there were quite a few selections for the kids. Typical but good. Pizza, spaghetti. chicken nuggets, mac&cheese. Awesome desserts though!!

So you would recommend either an early PS for lunch or a a late PS, right? But nothing in between, because apparently, that's when it gets really crowded, and that's why some people are disgruntled with the place?

So a PS for either 11 am or 1:30 pm or later should be OK, correct?

I would really like to go, as our PS at Crystal Palace would two days before our daughter turns 3, and she's already talking about going to "Dinney Wowld" and seeing "Winnie Pooh." I would hate to disappoint her! :teeth:

Hi Linda. Maybe if you eat something in your room for breakfast, book the early seating lunch. Your children will really enjoy it and I am sure they will make a fuss if it is your daugher's birthday. FYI - my 5 year old was a little afraid at first with all of the characters (they were all available since it was empty when we got there). My DH and I split up, and I took my daughter up to the buffet, and he stayed at the table and let my son get used to the characters. Then he went up and got his food and came back and was much more comfortable. The have a seperate little buffet for the kids to go to that has pizza, chick fingers & mac & cheese. My kids thought that was great since it was just for them. The desserts are fab! The adult buffet was great too. Many salads, hot and cold entrees; fruits, and healthy choices.

Good luck and enjoy!! You will be full for the rest of the day!

I would suggest eating breakfast there instead. It is cheaper and harder to mess up foodwise! lol Please take a look at the menus before you deceide. I consider myself and family very adventours eaters and when I dined there for lunch a month ago, I had a hard time finding anything good. The desserts are good though. It is the only time in my life that I left a buffet still hungry. lol :earseek:

Hiya,

If you're looking for an early lunch, why not do a late breakfast? I just got a PS for March 13 yesterday at 10:30 and the CM said, "Oh, I love you people who want late times becuase most people want early ones..." That way you could get a cheaper meal and it will likely be less crowded and you can be on rides when everyone else is eating lunch.

We've never been before and I can't wait! :earboy2:

::MickeyMo It is our favorite place to eat every time we go to Disney. Breakfast, lunch or dinner. The service is great and so is the food. ::MickeyMo
Everything from mac and cheese to salmon and prime rib.

We had the 11:30 seating for lunch at the CP last June and it was great. We did not have to wait long. The characters came right over and came around at least twice (except Piglet came only once). Our server was great. The food was great. I have a very picky 10 year old and she loved the children's buffet. We will definitely do this again.

We've had breakfast at Cp and it was wonderful! For our up coming trip in May we will be trying lunch :sunny:
