We always do Crystal Palace for dinner when we are at MK and we love it, but we thought about breaking out and trying something different. We stopped in and looked around Tony's Restaurant the last time we were there and thought we would try it on our next trip. I have read some pretty negative reviews on Tony's though. Is it worth it to make a jump from Crystal Palace? :confused3 We like doing a sit down meal for dinner at MK.

The food is pretty good at Tony's, we go there pretty often. I like Crystals, but you get tired of a buffet after awhile.

I am not a fan of Tony's....I felt it lacked any type of theme..the service was OK..nothing great...and the food was just not good...the sauce was watery  Crystal Palace is a buffet but the food is really good.. we ate there for breakfast....I have read several times that the dinner buffet is very good, as well. Have great trip! ;)

A recent DIS review panned Tony's once again. Bad food, bad service, no atmosphere and high prices. I have not been willing to risk it. At least at the buffets, if one thing is not great you have 10 others to choose from. We're sticking with CP!

If you decide to try Tony's, let us all know how it was :)

I also wanted to try something different so I booked Tony's and will be there in a few days. I hope its better than the reviews I'v eheard!

I JUST booked Tony's ... guess I'll be changing it to LTT ... I already have CP for another day!!

We went to Tony's last year, but for lunch -It was awesome! Great service, great food. I have no complaints.

We're booked again there for our Sept. visit.

Yes, the theme is "mild" and the food is not traditional Italian but it is not bad... We are from NY and I am an Italian cook and I actually enjoyed my meal... We went for lunch (I don't know if that makes a difference)... Our server was very good and we left full... The food is better than Olive Garden, that is for sure... Not the best or the worst on property... I also think it is nice to get away from the buffets... My kids enjoyed their meals and so did we...

We had one issue: My son wanted salad (part of the kids meal) and it came with a tons of dressing on it... We asked for plain salad with no dressing and they did not any :confused3 ... I guess they premake every thing.... They tried to take the dressing off but could not get most of it off... Needless to say, he did not eat the salad.... But he loved the rest of the meal...

We are not running back but it is not off the list either :upsidedow

Wasn't impressed w/ CP for dinner in December (food was fine...although nothing to write home about, characters were 'eh and service was awful!) and dd and I are trying Tony's in July for her birthday dinner...her request.

We ate lunch at Tony's last year, had a great table on the deck outside, had an awesome waiter named Derek - he talked to us a good bit about WDW secrets and such. We didn't do ARD and it wasn't crowded AT ALL!! Derek brought us a fabulous sundae "on him" too! We had Baked Ziti and thought it was great. All the years I'd been to WDW, I can't figure out why I hadn't eaten there before! If Derek is there and he is your waiter, he'll talk your ear off if you ask him questions! We didn't mind that he talked to us through our lunch although I know some would!

We haven't eaten at Tony's yet but we have done all the other 1 TS restaurants in MK. We go to the Crystal Palace for dinner on every trip but we've also really enjoyed Liberty tree tavern and The Plaza!:goodvibes

I really like Tony's. I enjoy their appetizers, bread with red pesto dipping sauce, and the desserts in particular and find the atmosphere very nice. Crystal Palace is fine, but its a buffet so its hard to compare the two. Tony's is a nice atmopshere with a more calm feeling to it. We had great service there which was another plus to our experience. Their Italian food is about on par with maybe an Olive Garden, its not your family run, totally authentic type Italian food. My dh had a steak that he thought was incredible. My kids loved the subtle Lady and the Tramp theming.

That review was indeed scathing. Food reviewers go into a restaurant with a totally different outlook. They are looking for things to either love or hate. The average family that is tired, hungry and ready to sit down and be waited on would have a different take 9 times out of 10. That guy also hates Boatwrights which normally gets great reviews. I notice that he doesn't dine with kids and again, is looking at restaurants very critically. Not that this is a bad thing but most of us are looking for places to feed the family within our park touring plans!

I say go for it if you want to give it a try. And for the poster that is thinking of switching their ADR from Tony's to LTT, bear in mind a lot of people really hate that place too! I happen to enjoy both very much, and have never had a bad meal at either.

Thanks for all of the input. I think we may try Tony's since we are wanting to do something different. We won't know if we like if if we don't do it ourselves.
