We'd like to take DD1 to meet her favorite character, Pooh. Which one of these meals is best, and should we do Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner? We have already decided on both Princess breakfasts, Chef Mickey's for dinner, Rainforest Cafe, and possibly Boma for dinner. Any suggestions? Thanks!

1900 PF only has 2 Pooh characters at Breakfast (usually Pooh and 1 of his friends). CP has Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet (I've heard Piglet is hit or miss, we've had Piglet both times) at all 3 meals. We've had breakfast and lunch at CP. Both meals were very good. Personally I would plan the meal around my park plans.
If it isn't an MK EE day get the earliest PS for CP breakfast. If it is MK/EE book the earliest lunch. Hit the park at EE opening and get Fantasyland done before lunch.

I have never been to the Grand Floridian. But we did go to CP for dinner. We had a great time. My DD who was 7 at the time was picked for Chef of the day and she made this huge brownie dessert with Pooh, Eyeore, Piglet and Tigger. It was fantastic. I have the picture on my desk with her and all of the Characters. We are diffently eating there when we go in September. The Characters were able to go around the resturant several time while we were there. We had an early dinner PS. The food was also very good.!!

We were at CP for the character dinner on Saturday night, and the character interaction was great. Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet were all there and had lots of time at each table. We've been to 1900 Park Fare for the breakfast, and I don't think the character interaction was as good as CP.

You might be suprised--your 1 year old might be terribly afraid of the characters. Keep that in mind, and have an alternate plan if this is the case.

The food is better at the GF. I also prefer the atmosphere. It's the best CB and CD at WDW IMHO. I don't think it's Pooh at dinner though--not sure, they keep changing. They aren't open for lunch.

Personally with a 1 year old I wouldn't worry too much about character interaction. They'll get plenty, and possibly too much. I'd look at food quality and service.

I also wouldn't do Chef Mickey's, especially for dinner--it's LOUD and the food is horrible.

Another CB you didn't mention was the Cape may Cafe, very lovely and not as frenzied as teh others.

The character breakfast at CP is one of my favorite meal at WDW. I think the food is GREAT. Lunch and dinner are much to be desired at CP, I thought the food was awful. I also agree with ducklite about the characters. Some kids are TERRIFIED of them, since they are SO BIG and they can't understand why they aren't the size of their favorite stuffed animal. I have two kids, and one was DEATHLY afraid of all characters until age 3, and my other one LOVED them at that age, but now at 2 is getting a little hesitant with them. Believe it or not, DD was even MORE afraid of the face characters. Since they do not look like their cartoon counterparts, she couldn't understand that this was Cinderella, and since she was afraid of strangers wanted NO PART of them. I'd plan the character meals, but have a back-up plan in case your child doesn't like them.
