We have done both breakfast and dinner at Crystal Palace but never lunch. So I am just looking for some opinions on lunch there and any info anyone has to share. TIA:)

We always do lunch at CP and have always enjoyed it.

If you book towards the end of the lunch time, there is a bit less of a crowd

Enjoy :)

we had an 11:40 last year and it was awesome. perfect time for a break byt he time 11:40 rolled around! the food was great! it was our first ts at disney ever and we were quite impressed. the salmon was great, mashed potatoes, pasta salads, chicken, everything. my family had no complaints and were rebooking for again this year :)

We had lunch there last month and all the food was plentiful and delicious. If I recall, our lunch reservations were for 1:30. It wasn't too crowded at all and that was for a Sunday.

Lunch and dinner are VERY similar. There are more sandwich meats, cheeses, etc... on the salad bar at lunch. More pre-made salads and soup at dinner.

I remember only one carved meat and no peel and eat shrimp with lunch.

The desserts were similar too but mostly cakes and cookies at lunch not the cheesecakes and tiramasu like we had at dinner.

Hope this helps some. :)

Thanks everyone!! I have several months( 8 actually :rotfl: ) before I have to make any firm decisions just trying to get a ideas and I think we will probably be trying CP for lunch this trip.

We loved CP for lunch! Nice break in the day and so much fun! The food was great - good variety - we enjoyed it!

We went for lunch around 11:30 figuring to beat the crowds. It was great for about the first 15 minutes, then it got totally chaotic.

The food was very good and we wished we could have tried more. We grabbed a first plate of samples figuring we'd go back for more but the lines grew so long so quickly that it wasn't worth the waiting time to get to the front (we had a 2.5 year old with us & didn't want to turn it into a 3 hour meal). I'd recommend booking as late as you can to avoid this kind of experience.

We're going to try breakfast in November; booked it for 10:00 a.m. hoping to avoid the mad rush we experienced last time.

We took a 2:30 to avoid the masses. Figure everyone will want to go sit in the heat and watch the parade. (we took this time long time ago and felt like we had characters all to ourselves. ) can not state how many times they each came around and gave up great photo ops.
But at the time we were two adults-- this time we are traveling with a child so it may be a madhouse

Lunch and dinner are very similar. I enjoyed it when I was there especially the pasta salad.

As a PP said, not a big difference between lunch and dinner menus. We think the lunch is great. I try and book an early lunch or a very late one so it doesn't cut into my park day too much. The food is always great IMO and the dessert is excellent. Lunch is my DD's favorite meal at CP.

Food is so so and forgettable. Character interactions is great. We waited almost an hour last October to be seated. It was hot and humid, and we were out of patience. My son had great time there. But I don't remember we ate anything good. Similar to 1900 park fare, or disney buffet's, just so so food, but great characters. If you're on dining plan and love the characters, do it, otherwise not worth it.

When in Oct?

We have done CP for lunch many times and always enjoyed it. One thing we learned this trip...they change over the meat carving stations at 3:15 pm so if you book near the end of the lunch service you'll pay lunch prices, but get dinner meats. We were there for 2:45pm and started the buffet with the lunch meats (flank steak and ???) and 1/2 wat through they switched to prime rib and turkey. It was nice to have the options.

I really enjoyed my CP lunch. Saved money with lunch instead of dinner and did not miss the extra meat at all!

Absolutely loved it for Lunch. We've done lunch twice at one of the earlier reservations about 11:40. It is more crowded then , but I never felt I couldn't get back for more food or enjoy it. All the characters stopped by the table twice. I've always reserved it a day we were doing EMH at Magic Kingdom, it was such a wonderful way to take a break after a long morning.

Oh we love going to CP for lunch :) The food was great and TONS of variety. I liked the flank steak, variety of salads and the kids chicken strips :) And the dessert...they have the best coconut flan period. Boston Cream Pie, etc etc...yum yum !!!

I ate at cp a thought it was the best lunch I've ever had at disney!!! A must do for sure! Goin back in october for lunch :yay:
