I was reading the menu for children and is said "Pooh's Corner Childrens' Buffet: macaroni & cheese, green beans, and chicken strips."

Does this mean that the kids have to eat off of a special buffet or can they eat from the other buffet?

It's just kid friendly food if they don't like anything off the regular buffet. When we were there I saw kids getting food from the non-kid friendly-ish buffet and I ate chicken nuggets and mac and cheese off of the kid buffet! What can I say-I love mac and cheese. Ok I had 'adult' food too ;)

The kids can eat anything they want, they just have a special area of kid-friendly favorites in case they don't want anything else. My DH has been known to raid the kiddie food from time to time! ;)

my kids were unhappy when I read the adult buffet menu and then the kids menu.

They are super excited now.

Yep! You sound like my DW. She enjoyed the kids buffet, and my kids enjoyed the pasta dishes from the adult buffet. :thumbsup2

There is no such thing as a "kids buffet" or even an "adult buffet" at Disney. They have buffets with one section lower to the floor which has on it items that kids tend to enjoy (such as pizza, hot dogs, chicken strips, mac & cheese, etc.). Any person at the buffet (including children less than age three who are free) can get anything from any part of the buffet.
