Hello, it has been awhile since I posted here but I am 10 days away from arriving at WDW and still trying to get last minute reservations. I was able to reserve Crystal Palace for lunch but mostly everyone recommends it for breakfast or dinner. Is there a reason why either would be better as opposed to lunch? I tried booking dinner but they are full and breakfast does have an opening but it is after the park is already open. Now, it is my wife daughter and me going and we are not really breakfast people so I kinda feel that the breakfast would be a waste but when we went last year for a week we never did a single character meal so if breakfast guarantees more character interaction I might me more inclined to book it just so my daughter can enjoy it more even though breakfast last year all week consisted of hot chocolate and a piece of bread. Now my question I guess is should I just stick to what I have or continue to call everyday and try to get into a dinner spot although I was able to get LTT dinner on that same day. On another side note, I just heard about free dining on Friday and quickly scrambled to get it added and make ADR's. I can definately say that it sems to be slower this time of year since I was able to get LTT for dinner, Crystal Palace and Le cellier without a problem so everything turned out good. Thank you all for anyhelp and advice in advance..... and sorry for the LONNGGG post but I tend to be a compulsive over planner when it comes to vacations.

should be the same for all meals at CP. We're like your family in that we are not breakfast people so all TS meals are lunch or dinner. The main differences you will find between lunch and dinner at CP are some food items will be added to dinner and the cost of dinner will be a little higher. You will probably not even notice the difference in food items.

You have a couple of good selections on your list. Le Cellier must have had a cancellation. Also LTT is eliminating the characters after January 2009. A lot of people are going as a farewell tribute to the characters.

I don't know how old your daughter is but she will get a fairly wide variety of characters at the meals you've listed. The only thing missing are princesses.

I believe the lunch and dinner menu are very similiar as it's a buffet. You didn't mention if you were on the dining plan, and if you are, dinner is more expensive so it would be a better 'value", which is probably why more folks go with dinner. If you have lunch ADR and are satisfied with the time, then stick to that. You will find both plus and negative reviews of Crystal Palace along with every other restaurant, so go enjoy and decide for yourself. I don't see a reason to switch unless you want to eat at a later time, then by all means continue to call. BTW, thanks for posting. We have a dinner ADR there and now I am thinking maybe a late lunch would work better:goodvibes . Enjoy your trip!

The characters are very good at this restaurant for all meals. The difference is the food selections for dinner. They have prime rib at night and also pulled pork and another sliced meat. The prime rib is very good and so is the salmon..SO I think that is the only difference in the meal selection. We just returned two weeks ago and had a great dinner there for my hubbies birthday

Thank you very much all for responding. We are on the dining plan so as you said dinner would be a better value but since it was "free" I guess I wont worry too much over it. My daughter is 11 but she likes to act older than she is, she will like something but will vehemently deny liking it just so she could seem "cooler" because she thinks it is too childish. She does not not know about the character meals but I know when she sees my wife and I goofing around and having a good time with the characters she will see that it is ok and have a great time. Now just to wait, October 4th cant come soon enough!
