Crystal Palace and park hours question

we're hoping to fit in a dinner at crystal palace, but how does that work on nights that the park closes early? for instance, on monday, 10/16, the park closes by 6pm for mnsshp. if we make a ps for 5pm, will that give us enough time (we won't be going to mnsshp) to eat and enjoy the characters, or do they start herding us out to get ready for the party?

also, do they charge for 2 year olds?

noone will herd you anywhere, take your time and there will be folks eating there who are staying for the MNSSHP. in fact you may see the staff passing out the wristbands, they usually have them there and you trade your hard ticket for them
