How early can we enter the park to take a photo in front of the castle before our meal? Any tips or suggestions?

Also will there be busses available this early (we will be staying at POP)?

Didn't know where to post this -Theme Park, Resort, Restaurant??????
So I thought I would try here first.

TIA

Edited to add: Is it posible to be done with our meal before park opens.

I believe the earliest ressies for CP are 8:05am in my experience they let people in starting at 8:00am maybe a few minutes before depending on the time of the year.

We've also got and 8ish reservation...how long does it take to eat?? What happens if you finish before the park is officially open at 9?? princess: :groom:

when we do CP we always get the earliest ADR available which is usually 8:05. Most people usually dont book this early so characters for pictures are all yours usually. Also if you finish before 9 you can meander around the Main st area and get some great pics. Thats just my experience.

A few wks ago I had an 820am AR at Crystal Palace. There was an early bus at Pop ready to leave by 630/645am. I was actually early to MK - no problem getting there at all.

We did this last year, and we have an ADR for 8.05 this year. This is what we did.
Get to the park gates for 7.45. They checked our ADR ref number and the number in our party. We were let in a side gate at 7.55, the told to walk straight down Main Street. I run a bit ahead of Dh and DD who was 2 1/2 yrs. I did this so I couold videoo her face as she saw the castle for the first time! It blew me away how excited she was. I was videoing in tears LOL! We walked down Main street, there was less than 50 people total. So a GREAT time to do photos of castle etc. There were Cs about making sure you didnt wander off. No fast pass machines were working till after 9.30am. We didnt rush Bfast, as we were told IF you do finish early, you cant go off to explore, as its all roped off with CMs. We enjoyed breafast, and finished about 9.10 which we perfect. Enjoy !!!!

I think getting there early for the CP breakfast is a great idea! I had early ressies for that breakfast last year but had to cancel because I changed my MK day. The only thing left was a 10am breakfast. It just about killed me watching the park getting more crowded while we were in CP eating breakfast (we had a window table). We got there at opening and rode a few rides, but by the time we got out of CP, MK was already packed.

The 8:05 am ressies go very fast!! Make sure you make them asap.

We did the same thing our last visit. Go to the ticket gate farthest on the left, they check your ADR and will let you in early, no problem. It didn't take us long to eat, the place was very uncrowded and it's a buffet. We were done before the park opened and just walked to the castle. I think we walked straight in to Fantasyland. Everything was a walk-on. This was on a Tuesday in October, the day after Halloween.

Crystal Palace.... :shuttterr: a characters worst nightmare.

We had an 8:05am for CRT in 2004. They didn't let us in the park until right at 8:00am. I thought we'd have time for a leisurely stroll up Main Street and time to take some pics since we had gotten to the entrance at about 7:45am. Nope. We ended up high-tailing it to the restaurant!

We were done with breakfast at about 8:45am and waited at the rope at the back of the castle. That's the morning we go to wake up Tinkerbell! :tink:

You all make me so excited! We have 8:05 ressies for CP on Sunday, August 20th, which is their PM EMH day, I believe. I can't wait we have never eaten at CP before. In fact, this year we are doing alot of character meals, much to the chagrin of my DS16, but in the past the only close one was the CRT for dinner and lunch (on separate visits). So I know that I am more excited than he.:cheer2:

Had an 8:05 ADR last November. We were able to get a bus from our resort (Beach Club) which got us there in plenty of time. Check with the the info people at your resort. The ones at Beach called it the Breakfast bus (I don't think that's it's official name, but they were aware that people needed transport to parks early) We were probably let in to MK just after 7:50. I found I had time to take a few pictures (one in front of the castle) and still get there in time. We got out of CP at about 8:45. so we ambled over to the castle to go through to Fantasyland, there was a rope across at the other side. It dropped just after 9am.

I thought it was all timed excellently, and am planning to do the exact same thing again.

If you have an 8:05 reservation and they let you in at 8 don't rush... get your pictures taken (no other time will not not be less crowded) and if you get there at 810 they aren't going to allow you to eat... they will still be checking in the 15 others that have the 805 reservation!

Enjoy the moment!!!

Just don't do what we did in 2004. I was all stressed out because I thought we'd be able to get in early. They didn't let us in until 8:00. I then felt rushed thinking we had to be at the Castle before 8:05 to check in. We did a quick pic and everyone looked rushed! Just enjoy your stroll down Main Street. As rhiansmom said, they will still get you in if you show up at 8:10. This year, we have an 8:05 ADR at Crystal Palace so hopefully we have learned from our mistakes.

:rotfl2: I was the same way last year. We had a 8:20am ressie and we were not seated until 8:40am. By 9:10am my DH thought I was going to collapse because I am so anal as I watched the crowds roll in and I wasn't one of them. :furious: He he!! We don't even do breakfast meals anymore since none of us are even hungry that early to eat a buffet meal but I need to be at rope drop everyday  we then do lunch and go have naps in the afternoon. Our character meals are always dinner now and I LOVE breakfast food too. Oh well....

We always do the 10:25 breakfast--last seating--and use it for our lunch. We aren't very hungry in the early morning either. The crowd really thins out and the characters usually just hang around us because it is so empty. It is a good time to get some character interaction!

Just had to share this . . . :teeth:

On our last trip, we had an 8:05 ressie at CP. Got to enter the park a little before 8:00 and headed up Main Street (which is really cool when there is nobody there!). Ate our breakfast, which was wonderful, got plenty of character interaction, and were done around 8:50. My girls wanted to hit Splash Mountain first instead of Fantasyland, so we exited CP and made a right toward Adventureland.

They have a rope drop there just like the one at the castle, but it was just us and a few other people waiting for the CMs to let us in. Right at 9:00 they dropped the rope and led us through to Frontierland. I guess everyone else was going to Big Thunder Mountain or fell behind for pictures or whatever, but my family got to be the first ones on Splash Mountain! :thumbsup2

As we were getting in the boat, an older CM asked what our last name was. Wasn't sure what that was all about, but we told him, and off we went! Upon return, we got up to exit and he pulled us over to the side and explained that sometimes they choose to give the first riders a special treat. He handed us a certificate that said the Moore family was the first to ride Splash Mountain on that day. He then led us to the gift shop and gave us a complimentary Splashdown photo. Great, right? But that's not all . . .

It took a few minutes to get the picture, so he asked my girls if they liked Big Thunder Mountain RR. Of course they said yes. So he led us over to the exit and walked us up, bypassing all the crowd that had already lined up for it. While we stood waiting to get on the next train, I explained to my girls that when we got off, we would go get fastpasses to come back and ride Splash Mountain again later. He overheard this, and said, "Don't waste your fastpass on Splash Mountain, get some for something else you want to ride." And he handed us a pass good for our whole family to come back anytime during the day and walk right on!

I realize this doesn't happen every day, but I'm sure glad I had that 8:05 ressie!!!

We also have an 8:05 ressie on this same date. SEE YOU THERE! We did this last year and it was GREAT. I got some wonderful pictures of the castle, the breakfast was DELISH, and we were done by about 8:50!

I also have 8:05 am ressies for CP on Aug 20th. LOL that is a riot. My husband and I are taking my 2 daughters and 2 grandaughters, can't wait. See you all at the MK.
