Crying and Laughing and Clinging OH MY!

Great parade shots. So glad the magic came back when you got there!

And then the parade ended:sad1: The last minute or two people came down handing out candy. This was AWESOME, particularly because the lines to get candy around the park were absolutely rediculous. We rode Space Mountain and got something to eat at Cosmic Rays. I got chicken tenders to share with Conner and JR ordered a side of fries. My mom got mashed potatos and a chicken breast, and I think Shane ordered the same thing as me. No food porn, it wasn't anything special...but it was stilll good!

Next was the fireworks

I know we attempted Haunted Mansion this night, but it was REDICULOUSLY crowded. I got some pretty cool pictures though

Thats my mom with the black and white thing on her head, she was a dead bride

And last but not least, how awesome is this picture? I was messing with my camera settings and ended up with this. I think its pretty spooky that this happened during MNSSHP, and notice, Haunted Mansion is in the back!!!

Tomorrow morning is supposed to be our only visit to Animal Kingdom. Will we make it? Will JR's toothache get in our way again? Will Conner be a Monster child again (notice how I capitalized Monster?! lol)?

Great parade shots. So glad the magic came back when you got there!

I love the picture of Barbosa, that man played the part so good! That night started off so bad but ended much better...I was in such a happy place when the parade started:cloud9:

Glad to hear that someone else agrees with me about POP, it just wasn't for me. The price was for me lol just not the resort. I'm only on a roll because I refuse to let my vacation end! This is my way of making it last longer. I'll have to check out your TR, I'm interested to see why you weren't a fan of pop. Thats so funny that we were there the same time...you're lucky, you spent 3 nights more than us!! I'm jealous!

I totally just remembered this and I think it is important to share. JR, Conner, and I decided to leave MK before my mom and Shane. On our way out, the second parade was coming around. They completely blocked the exits for the park on BOTH sides of the train station. I had a really difficult time believing that we were just stuck there. This wouldn't ever be an issue for me, except Conner was exhausted and so was I...and I think JR's mouth was starting to bother him again, so we REALLY were ready to call it a night. Well JR asked a cast member if we could cross because we were trying to leave. And she said NO. She said we couldn't leave until the parade was over. And it wasn't even at the beginning yet! Like we could see it coming, but it hadn't gotten to where we were...

So JR, being JR, wanted to see what she would say to this: our kid is really sick and throwing up everywhere, we need to leave.

She says NO.

I was amazed. Can they really keep you from leaving the park? Is this legit? I know they have to keep main street blocked off during the parades, but I've left plenty of times in the middle of them, and not once has someone tried to stop me.

So when this CM told JR no for a second time, he said if she wouldn't escort him across, he would go himself or have another cast member help us. Well, while he was walking back over to where Conner and I were waiting, I watched that CM walk over to THREE other CM's, and they all looked at us. It was like they were going to gang up on us if we tried to leave. I was not feeling the Disney love at this point.

I would have understood if the parade was THERE, but it wasn't yet. Thats what kills me. I know its for our safety, but nothing was there that could have harmed us. :confused3

On a better note, Conner did much better on the bus ride home, and passed out right when we got back to the room. JR and I weren't far behind him.

Well, I will have you know that I totally did an update yesterday. But once again, I failed to copy it before I submitted, and everything was lost. Needless to say, I was very angry with the disboards and left lol

I left off with MNSSHP, nothing too eventful happened when we got back to POP, just some amazing sleep:rotfl:

Saturday, October 2nd: ANIMAL KINGDOM DAY!

Everyone woke up and skurried to get ready. We were trying to be there right around when the park opened:rotfl2: POP had given us advice to take the buses this day because there was some race going on, and they expected a lot of traffic. Well, since EVERYONE was told to take the buses, we did the opposite and drove. Luckily we didn't hit any traffic! We did get to AK probably 20 minutes after it opened, but it wasn't terribly crowded yet. This park was opening at the regular time. Since we were out late the night before, we didn't even want to try getting to an early am hours park. It just wouldn't have happened.

Once in the park, my brother ran over to the Safari ride to get FP's. If the line wasn't too terrible, we were going to wait, and get FP's for Everest instead. But he ended up getting FP's for the Safari. We had about a half hour wait before our passes were valid, so we grabbed a quick bite to eat at one of the stands nearby. I got a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich and a banana which I shared with Conner. After we ate, we still had some time left, so I let Conner stretch his legs and bang on some BIG drums. He kept looking at me like "Is this okay?" "Am I really allowed to do this?" lol It was too funny.

After the drums, it was time for our two week journey through the Africa savannah! Our last attempt at this ride with Conner back in December 09 didn't go so well, so this trip I spent more time enjoying myself than taking pictures. Conner kept pointing to everything to show me and JR. He did MUCH MUCH better than last year.

This was hysterical. The baby giraffe started nursing, and suddenly every mom on board yells "AWWWWWWWWWW!!!" All the dads kind of looked at eachother like oh. my. god. lol It really was cute though

ak3.jpg

There was so many of them, and they were so close to our truck

46993_636514009117_45609619_35785309_5961440_n.jpg

Our two week safari had to be cut short:sad1: But then we headed over to our next adventure: FINDING NEMO!!!!

Words cannot explain how much I love this show. I think the theatre and the show itself are both beautiful. And if you haven't had the opportunity to see it, you should definitely put it on your to do list. The line wasn't long at all, it probably took us 5 minutes to get in the theatre. On on way, I snapped these shots:

47007_636520266577_45609619_35785402_2968169_n.jpg

Once we got in the theatre, we still had a good 20 minutes before showtime. I specifically sat in the very very front so Conner could see everything up close and so he could have that space to run around. We had a mini photo shoot to pass the time

47007_636520271567_45609619_35785403_803645_n.jpg

And then the show began!

ak7.jpg

ak10.jpg

Conner really liked the first three quarters of the show, even clapping during the scenes. But then his attention span ended, and we had to leave. I was happy that we saw as much as we did though, not to mention extremely impressed that he sat that long.

Next up was Expedition Everest! We utilized some FP's and rider switch passes and each rode twice. My brother was actually able to ride three times. After my first ride, my mom took Conner to where we would be eating.

But before that, while JR and I were waiting for our next turn, we got some of these pictures:

33671_636520306497_45609619_35785404_3143780_n.jpg

39558_636520136837_45609619_35785392_1985762_n.jpg

I love this ride, but the part when the Yeti tears up the tracks is SO loud. I think the best secret about this ride is riding in the front. Not just because its the front and everyone thinks thats the best, but the view! When you get to the top where the tracks are "broken", you can see the swan and dolphin, DTD, and more. They charge like $15 a person to ride that hot air balloon in DTD, when you can get a better view from Everest.

After our rides were over, it was time to meet my mom and eat lunch. Turns out, the rumors were not true, and Flame Tree BBQ was open!!! YES! I love this place!

I was so excited to get some pulled pork, but they had something new on the menu! It was a turkey sandwich on sunflower seed bread with cranberry mayonaisse. OMG. TO. DIE. FOR. I was so hesitant to get this because I love their BBQ, but I will probably order this again and again and again. SO YUMMY!

When we found my mom, she had gotten Conner asleep...again. I think it was at this point we started to joke that she was drugging him. Everytime she took him so JR and I could get on a ride, he always came back asleep. She has some magic touch I guess. And she bought him a Donald baby...my man loves to cuddle with babies.

ak12.jpg

I also had never noticed this before, but every pavillion to eat in for Flame Tree has a different theme. Ours was snakes:eek: The one next to us was spiders

Notice the snake is eating a rat!
ak14.jpg

And here the spider is eating butterflies!

JR and I after lunch

ak13.jpg

After lunch we decided it was time to go back to POP so we could get some nap time in. On our way out, we took some more pictures and said goodbye to AK:sad1:

We also saw the Ivy Lady for a quick second. Normally I think she looks really pretty, this time I think she looked kind of scary lol

ak5.jpg

Since the beast had slept while we were in AK, I was a little nervous about how I was going to get a real nap out of him when we got back to POP. But I had a trick up my sleeve. What was it? Would I wear him out again for another nap, or would the beast stay awake?!?! And what magical place did we have dinner reservations with some beautiful characters?

Hi girl! Just got caught up on your TR! Conner is freakin adorable! :)

Sorry you didn't like Pop. After staying in all the places you've stayed, I'm not sure how much I'd like it either. But Pop was the first Disney resort I ever stayed at so it has a special place in my heart. When I plan my 2012 trip, I definitely want to stay deluxe if I can afford it.

I can't believe they wouldn't let you leave MK cause of the parade! We left in the middle of the afternoon parade. We saw the vehicle coming down the street literally 10 feet from us and dashed across Main Street. Had the CM tried to stop us, I doubt I would've listened. They can't stop you from leaving the park, that's ridiculous!

Looking forward to reading more :)

Wow the tooth ache for JR sucks....did it get worse as the trip progressed?

And evil lady on the bus! You're right, what was she expecting?! :scared1:

Glad AK was a better day. The fact that your mom can always get Conner to sleep is amazing :) very lucky there!

Can't wait to read more!

Thank you thank you! I think thats the reason I wasn't a huge fan...I'm just used to all the other resorts, especially Port Orleans. We've stayed there countless times. Pop is just SOOOOOO affordable. I'm debating taking Conner in January for his 2nd birthday, and if I do we will be staying at Pop lol If we were to stay at a deluxe, I think we would end up with NO spending money.

OMG I couldn't believe they were making us stay in MK. I say it like its a bad thing, and while I could never complain about being stuck in MK...I mean seriously, what better place could you be trapped? It just urked my nerves that they did that.

I'm having the Disney blues hardcore...keep posting more of your trip so the magic doesn't end lol

JR was fine for the remainder of the trip :worship: Disney offered to have a doctor come out to the resort, to our room. But I think that would have been ungodly expensive, and there is a clinic right near Disney property. Luckily, alcohol therapy cured his pain, and he was good for the rest of the vacation.

I'm still mad at that lady...glad you agree with me!

AK was good, I just wish we could have done more. Toting around a one year old definitely minimizes what you can do. But it was all worth it.

The funny thing about my mom is, the last time she watched Conner at home for us, he was still awake when I picked him up at 10:30 at night. She tried everything to get him asleep...including rubbing his feet:lmao:

So glad to find this report because I am taking my 20 month old by myself in 2 days. I hadn't previously thought of how many pacis to bring, but after this report, we are bringing the whole lot. :)

We got back to Pop after Animal Kingdom and Conner had some energy he needed to release before I would get him down for another nap...so to the pool we went!!

Little man can swim so good!

I wasn't totally digging the floaties POP had, I mean they were WAY better than nothing, but ours is the best and I totally forgot it at home

He started to realize that swimming in this vest is way harder than the one at home, and started clinging to me

Then he would get brave again

It was SO sunny out...thats why I look like that lol

After our pool fun, it was nap time. Conner fell asleep, but before I could shut my eyes, it was time to get ready for our 5 pm reservations! Gosh time flies by when you are in Disney!

And for some reason, we couldn't get ready in time...again. We ended up being 10 minutes late to our reservations. BUT...guess who was late too?!

AKERSHUS!!!

We had to wait maybe 10 more minutes before they were able to seat us. I have to say, I wasn't entirely thrilled with this meal. Our waiter came over to our table and explained that there is an appetizer buffet included with the meal, and then you order an entree. They seat this place like a cruise ship...each section is at the same stage-one appetizers, another dinner, and the third is doing dessert.

OH! And you get your picture taken with a princess, ours was with Belle. Conner was not being very cooperative, I think since I had to cut his nap short, but we made due. Then when we got our picture back, my moms eyes were closed. They had taken like 5 shots so I couldn't believe they gace us that one. Needless to say, we asked to retake it, and they said yes.

Back to dinner, we jumped right up to check out the appetizer buffet which I really enjoyed. There was a lot of different stuff to try along with some familiar things. Dinner took a little longer than I would have preferred, but I enjoyed my food. And I actually have pictures this time! My drink was ah-mazing..it was called a "Blue Gow-tini" and it came with a light up ice cube.

It was all very pretty but I'm not a big fan of desserts to begin with so I would be a bad critic.

44896_636520391327_45609619_35785413_5171483_n.jpg

After our long long meal the princesses FINALLY came around. By the time they got to our section, people had already left without even seeing them. This is my major complaint about this dining experience, especially for those of us traveling with little ones. By the time they started coming around, Conner was done with dinner and wanted to leave, not to mention tired. I think we would have had a MUCH better experience if the princessed came around during appetizers and dinner, when the kids are still with the program. Another table nearby had THREE girls, yes THREE. Two of which were obviously tired and just as ready to leave as Conner. I think they would have also had a much better experience had the princesses started sooner.

My second complaint about this one...the big princesses asked all the little princesses to join them in a parade.

What about the little princes?!? I get that its dining with the princesses, but they should have said all kids. And I know I could have gotten Conner up anyway, but they just weren't as interested in the little boys. I did get some half way decent pictures...well my mom did....of my brother and JR.

I don't really think Conner knew what to do lol

e1.jpg

See? You can tell just by looking at him that he was exhausted by this point

e2.jpg

e3.jpg

Snow White was by far the best. She asked my brother hold old he was and he said 13. Snow White said "oh, me too!!" in her cute, adorable high pitched voice.

e5.jpg

He cracks me up how he is holding his arm behind him lol

e6.jpg

Last but not least was Ariel

e7.jpg

Once the princesses bid adieu, we moved on to another country...Mexico! We did the ride real quick and looked in the stores. I really liked watching the man that makes the glass stuff. That was cool to see. Then my mom made me do this

I have my pandora bracelet on too!

e8.jpg

e9.jpg

Then she made me and my brother do this

And next I passed on the favor, and made Conner pose for this:lmao:

e13.jpg

Once our fun in Mexico ended it was time to find a place to watch Illuminations. We got a couple of drinks on the way, and ended up watching it from the bridge right near Italy. The show was fantastic as usual, but I think Conner was a bit afraid.

After the fireworks, we walked back to The Boardwalk to get our car. But before we got the car, my mom brought us to see an "open house" for the DVC. And oh, it was beautiful. I think this might be another reason why I wasn't able to fall in love with POP. The second we stepped in the place, JR asked the DVC lady what she was doing in our room? lol I wish. By the time we got back to POP, it wasn't terribly late, so my mom listened for Conner while JR and I had a drink at the pool bar. We were going to play arcade games, but by the time I had finished my drink, I was falling asleep at the bar lol So needless to say, we went back to the room and passed out.

What were our plans for the next day? We had already been there for 2 days and still hadn't been to MGM or eaten around the food and wine fest at Epcot...or futureworld!!! We had lunch reservations the following day at a restaraunt that is IMPOSSIBLE to get. And I was SOOOOOOO excited, but oh the story behind this one!

But where did we go!!?!? And did we make it on time?!

We didn't have that problem at the Princess Breakfast....they came around while we ate that's odd...

can't wait to read more!

I'm not a big dessert person either. I eat a couple bites and then I'm over it. LOL.

The first picture of Sleeping Beauty, she looks drunk. :rotfl:

Is the restaurant Le Cellier??

And thats what I've heard previously about breakfast there. I think if we decide to try it again we will definitely go for breakfast instead of dinner.

I was going to say the same thing about a couple of those princesses!! I was kind of surprised that they didn't have them look a little better since they were right in our faces. I swear the parade princesses look fantastic...maybe its bc they are further away?:lmao: Snow white was great though, I really enjoyed her.

It miiight be...you'll just have to wait ;)

I feel that Snow White is the best princess they have. She always looks exactly like the Snow White in the movie. Belle is usually pretty good too. The rest of them, Sleeping Beauty especially, :confused3 Maybe it's the wig.

I need to finish this PTR before I forget all of the good stuff!

Sunday October 3

Our plan was to tackle Epcot in the morning because we had reservations for Le Cellier at lunch time!!! Jenny105 you were right! How eve did you guess it?!;)

Before our reservations, we grabbed fastpasses and a rider swap for Soarin', which was amazing as usual. We specifically asked to be front and center, and they gave it to us. That ride just isn't the same when you have other peoples feet dangling above you. So for all you newbies: Always request Row A and try to be in the center!

Before our Soarin' FP were ready, we grabbed a quick breakfast inside of the land, which was also yummy as always. And afterwards we took a nice, relaxing ride on Living with the Land. :cloud9: This is one of my favorite rides ever. I feel like a lot of people miss out on it because its kind of hidden inside of the land, and there is never a line, so maybe it doesnt seem like a big deal. But it is SO cool. Conner did really well on this one, he seemed to enjoy it.

We decided to split up after everything was completed inside of The Land, my mom and Shane aren't huge fans of Nemo, but this was a must do on my list. Conner liked the ride, with the exception of that part with the scary fish with the light bulb on its face. That freaked him out and we had to cover his eyes. By this point, Conner was getting tired, and because of this, I dont think he enjoyed the ride or the aquarium as much as he would have, had we gone first thing in the morning.

I tried to get him into Turtle Talk with Crush, but after 10 minutes of waiting, and the show STILL hadn't started, we gave up and moved on.

Walking into the Nemo ride

After Nemo, we started walking towards the countries, under the impression that our reservation was coming up soon. And JR really wanted to find this drink he got on our first trip from France. So we started to head over to that area.

On our way, I had to have my picture taken in front of this. I love WDW during the food and wine fest!!!

We couldn't find JR's drink at France...maybe because it was barely 11 am. But we did find him another yummy beverage in Morocco! After his drink, we realized we still had a decent amount of time before our reservations, so we headed back towards Canada and went to check out some of innovations. But me being me, and not paying attention, ended us in a huge store instead of what I thought was Innovations. And that is where we played for a good 45 minutes until our reservations.

Conner was so funny with these hats

Look, he played the part! hahahaha

After our fun in the store ended, we watched this water show outside. I've never seen it before, but Conner and I loved it!!! We were getting sprayed a little here and there, and Conner thought it was the funniest thing in the world.

It really was so cool and LOUD. When the water would spray up, it sounded like fireworks or canons going off.

And then we finally made it over to Canada. How beautiful is this? Has to be one of my favorite pictures ever!

Remember how Conner was getting tired wayyyyyyyy back when we were inside of Nemo...well yeah, this was hours later and still no nap

From the moment we walked into Le Cellier, Conner didn't want to sit down, wanted nothing to do with the crayons, and was just being a beast in general. JR and I took turns walking around outside with him so everyone else could enjoy their meal. I got an appetizer for two which was really good, but I was so full. Because my mom suggested that I order mac n cheese for Conner which he wanted nothing to do with, so I tried to eat some of it...I didn't want to waste the whole thing. And I would never recommend this mac n cheese to anyone. WAY too many breadcrumbs. My appetizer for two came with their infamous cheese soup, which JR also ordered as his meal. Conner got worse and worse throughout this meal, which might have contributed to what I'm about to say:

I was so freaking excited to eat here, but I honestly don't feel the need to go back to Le Cellier anytime soon. While the food was good, it wasn't to die for, and I hated the mac n cheese. Not to mention, half way through the meal, that cheese soup got the better of JR, if you know what I mean.

By the time we left Le Cellier, I felt sick. I don't know if it was the mix of foods I had or if the cheese soup had the same effect on me, but I felt so bloated, it was the equivilent to being 5 months pregnant. Ewe, I know.

And we had reservations at a buffet later that night!!!!!:scared1: My poor tummy lol

After lunch, we started to head back to the bus area, and took a few pictures on the way out.

Poor Conner was SO tired

When we got back to the room, I just needed to pass out. After all, my belly felt like I was carrying a toddler around, and JR's belly wasn't too happy with him either. I'm pretty sure we all passed out right away. And we needed to...because we had reservations to one of my favorite restaraunts at 5:30 for dinner. How ever would we digest that meal from Canada in time!? Would we make our reservations? And what park would we go to afterwards?

And guess what happens in that park???

any guesses??

any?

THE PACI STORY CONTINUES!!!

I've never had Le Cellier and now I'm nervous about our reservation, ack!

what's next - what's next?

Everyone else loves it, as I previously had. I'm sure you will enjoy it! I need to go again without a screaming toddler, and see if my opinion changes. I wasn't in the best mood while I was eating this food, so I'm sur ethat affected my feelings towards it.

gotta go back to work:sad1: more tomorrow!!!

And ps. I think I might have to make an uh-oh and accidentally book a trip in January. shh, dont tell JR;)
