We cancelled our Disney trip next weekend because of gas prices! Now gas is 2.89 here!! I'm so freakin' bummed out!

Wow..that is pretty low...quite a differene from the summer. It's down to $3.45 here. Although it was a dollar more all summer, and that really cut into our camping trips. We just couldn't do the weekend trips to our seasonal site that we normally would have taken. In fact, we decided not to do the seasonal site for next year. I have no doubt the "gas crisis" will be back as soon as Memorial Day comes back around.
I'm sorry you cancelled, is there any chance you can still go?

Dont feel like your the only one ...I had canceled my camping trip to the fort but i had a cheap hotel so my trip was on ...Then because of the hurricane,my company can not seem to get supplies out of Texas,they cut our production back to allmost nothing as well as our work week.My vacation that we were suppose to be on had to be cut for lack of paychecks coming in and the money for vacation has to be spent paying bills.....How does a company expect you to pay your bills on 24 hrs a week....It would have been fine if i was still in college .....but those days are long gone.... So here i sit supposed to be in orlando but im here with friends on the dis.....

IKE just about made us have to cancel because my DW was almost 2 weeks with out work and we did not know when she was going back but it looks like it will all work out. I hope all who canceled are planning there next trip.

Wow, on the one hand I'm very sorry you had to cancel, on the other I'm ticked that your gas is only $2.89 and you're complaining! Our lowest priced are still north of $3.50! What is the deal with NC?! Hope you can get your footing again soon.

I do not think that they were complaining over $2.89.. I think that they are crying because at that price they could go... that is how I am reading it I may be wrong..

I'm so sorry you had to cancel! My parents almost made the same decision for the same reason. Gas prices were so high this past summer, we were anticipating upwards of $4/gallon and my parents were considering taking their car and staying in a motel off-site for the first four nights. I was researching suite-style motels so I'd have a sofabed to sleep on. My parents decided to view this trip as a "last hurrah" for long trips with their motorhome and we went ahead with our plans at the Fort. I'm still sleeping on a sofabed next weekend, but I'm very happy it's in their rig. They took off early this month and called yesterday as they drove past the WDW exits on I-4.

It's so tough to make that kind of decision when you don't have a crystal ball.

$2.84 in Central Illinois. I hope it continues downward. Unfortunately when it gets close to our trip time it seems to skyrocket--keep your fingers crossed it doesn't.

I wish I knew what the deal is with NC and the HIGHEST gas prices around!!!

I live right on the border of NC/SC so I drive 5 miles to get gas in SC. Last night it was $2.89 - down a dime from the night before. It's dropping, dropping, dropping. But NC is still around $3.29 / Charlotte area.
