A couple of responses to a post about the demolition of the North Wing. Posted by a CM well respected by that group.:surfweb:

The DVC building that will take the place of the CR north wing is not
a rumor - although not officially announced, the contracts have been
signed and as you pointed out, the area is being readied. During one
of the press events last year, this item came up and was acknowledged
by Disney ("... the DVC will be building something there soon ...").
The only controversy about it is over the drawings that were leaked.
Those drawing are part of a set of many possible plans for the new
building. When the final plans are finished, the announcement will be
made (IMHO those drawings were way off base for that area).

Boom

The only thing that could kill the AKL, CR, or other <in the works>
DVC building project is lack of sales. Lack of sales ? DVC ? ROFL !!

By the way, someone mentioned a possible DVC building at POR. I would
just like to remind everyone here that the DVC has an interest in a
small section of EVERY resort at WDW, except for the AS resorts (not
licensed in Osceola County yet), so anything is possible and one day,
probable.

Oh, I sure hope he/she is right about the CR design being only one of many. I really don't care for it.

We would love to buy CR and would probably always request a view of Bay Lake versus the MK. If such rooms exist in that design, they would be looking at neighbors...forget the private, peaceful view of Bay Lake.

I would also personally prefer a much shorter building and one that somehow fit in better with the exisiting design.

I know....why don't the powers that be give us a vote on the possible designs!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

As to the second quote, I will then still hope for a Polynesian DVC someday.:cloud9:

Oh, no! Don't even tease me with the possibility of a Polynesian DVC! I don't know how we're going to be able to use all the points we have now (without going broke, anyway) and there is no way I'm passing up a CRV purchase OR a Polynesian one. (I'd even be tempted with a DVC with similar theming to the Poly, even without the monorail!) Hmm, maybe I'll just have to follow greenban's lead, and buy enough points for retirement purposes!

Hehehe, last time I spoke to my guide I asked him about the CR wing demo and the CRV rumors and as expected he didnt say anything noteworthy.

So I said "Do you not know or will you not say" and he responded 'yes".

I started teasing him and said well Yes to which one! And he said "all I can tell you is I value my job to much to give you an answer other than the official one; Disney has not announced any plans to build DVC at CR."

He then went on to say, with emphasis, "keep in mind even the new buildings at SRR are not considered "official" until the day they open them. Disney does not want another situation like Eagle Pines"

That conversation gave me a tiny bit of hope that CRV will happen. :thumbsup2

Seriously need a Poly DVC. I would be ALL OVER THAT!

I am saving my pennies now - seriously. (Well it's actually more like nickels, dimes and quarters :teeth: )

What "situation" like Eagle Pines? There certainly have been many other DVCs that were announced and never built. The only thing unique about Eagle Pines is that ground prep work had begun, however, the same could have been said about the never built portion of Vero.

As far as announced, but not built...Newport Beach, NYC and possibly Colorado. So even if CRV was "announced" by Disney, it doesn't really mean anything.

Amen - The Poly is the right location and has the best pool around the lagoon. And the direct view of the castle at night is priceless.!!
