Anyone go on this yet? I read some of the reviews on the other sites. It looks so cool! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

What is this?..I never heard it mentioned and I don't remember it last time! Is it new? What park?

Hi,

Yes...I did it last week. Just got back from the world yesterday. It is fun, a little wild and a little painful...It is off to the right when you enter...past the photo hut. It seemed quite a bit removed from the rest of the park.

It was really fun and definitely unusual to go uphill on a water slide, but a little rough. It is 3 slides - Coconut Crusher, Banana Blaster and Pineapple Plunger. They all exit into the same pool.

You have to take your raft and choose which one you want to do and then climb up approx 3-4 flights of stairs to your position. Then you get settled into your tube (they are all 2 holed tubes and can be used to seat either one or two peeps).

Then they push a little release button that moves a conveyor belt that will send you off in the ride. Then hold on!!!!! It is fast and splashes lots of water in your face. - dont wear your sunglasses - I learned the hard way.

Now, the painful part. I guess the technology that allows you to go up a waterslide involves some sort of conveyor belt action or pulsating water....and when you hit it with your bum....it is at first shocking and then by the end of the ride I found myself yelling "Owww" The next time we tried to lift up the bum and it was better, but still was uncomfortable by the end of the ride.

The kids loved it, but said it hurt too. They did it about 4 times - (suprisingly no lines) and then were done...

I would do it again, but my warning would be to be ready for the smacking sensation on your backside....LOL.

I will be interested to hear others comments and reviews as well. Maybe they know something that we dont to help with the discomfort

Best,
Michelle aka NEM

Hi,

I guess after reading the other reviews it is pulsating water that gets you up the hills. But it is pulsating hard - it hurts(IMHO)!! There is a conveyor (very short) that dumps you into the ride, but the part about keeping your bum up off the ride for maximum comfort is completely true!!

My neices had already been on it..( I had first round of baby duty) and I did not know what my neices meant when they told me "it hurt" until I went on it...give it a try, you will see what I mean. It is not enough to make you not do it, but it will wake you up!!!

I think it would be great if they had tubes with bottoms in them to help absorb some of the power of the water (as opposed to my derriere) but I dont know how much that would help. I am certain some engineers thought of all the possibilities before this technology was created.

We had plus size and skinny minnie people ride and the reports were all the same...lift up your bum. Hope that helps,

Michelle aka NEM

Thank you so much for the advice. We rode Crush n' Gusher a number of times yesterday and made sure to lift up our backsides. We enjoyed it very much and had no problems whatsoever. What a fun ride. But the Pineapple Plunger slide was closed temporarily while we were there because someone apparently didn't lift up their bums and we were told that somehow the conveyor belt got stopped!!
