Crumbl cookie vs Gideon's

Gideon's is a lot smaller - I think only two locations in Orlando. One is at Disney Springs though so it gained notoriety. It is notable for a heavily themed interior that is dark and macabre.
Ah my kids would love that!

Oh that’s cool, I love it! Someday I’ll get out that way and check it out. Reminds me a little of Harry Potter.

Oh, it's very well within the Harry Potter motif. Apparently the founder was big on the interior design and wanted to make it special. Check out the website to get a good idea of the vibe:

Of course, all that vibe doesn't mean anything if the cookies aren't good. To me they are, though I can understand that they're not to everyone's taste. They are a bit "doughy" but I am a big fan of that.

I never heard of Gideon’s. I’ve only had Crumbl cookies once and they were tasty. I also like Tiff’s Treats. Their service model is warm cookie delivery and it’s pretty yummy.

I haven’t tried Gideon’s or Crumbl, but I could go for some Schmackery’s (theatre district and Brooklyn based cookie shop) right now

I've had crumbl twice. The choc chip wasn't special IMO, but I had a "snickerdoodle cupcake" cookie that I still daydream about. If I'm near one, I check the menu online to see if it's available. I only check once a month, or so but I haven't seen it again. I need to make some at home (it was a snickerdoodle with cream cheese frosting) but I try not to have tempting food around at home.

Cookies aside I think I need that t-shirt! I feel like their cat logo should be my avatar’s Halloween costume 🤣

Oh the logo is awseome. I even saved the bag! I believe he is a gargoyle - but maybe a cat-like gargoyle.

I went to Crumbl a few months ago. They were having trouble with one of their ovens and only had two offerings: a sugar cookie with Sour Patch kids which looked awful and some other chocolate thing. I cannot remember but that's what I got. It wasn't bad for sure, but I didn't feel like I was eating a cookie. It just seemed like something else--kind of like a dense cake. I haven't been jazzed enough to go back but maybe I need to try something else.

Never had Gideon before so I can't compare but somebody sent my daughter a box of Crumbl for her birthday and they were the best cookies I've ever had!

$32 for a dozen cookies??

:faint:
they are HUGE!! we split one between 3 people easily, maybe 4.
I used to follow them on Facebook but I had to stop, because I was always wanting to go get more cookies LOL. Now if I don't see them, I don't crave them.

I haven't tried either yet. keep saying next visit to Disney Springs I'll stop at Gideon's but hadn't yet. Crumbl just opened up recently near me so I've been tempted to stop one of these days.

I’ve seen them before. I still can’t make it make sense in my head.

The thing about Crumbl is that they change once a week on Monday. I asked when they were going to have the little pumpkin pie which looks like little pumpkin pies and she said she never knows they surprise them on a Monday. Frankly that is insane and I do not believe it because if you are the baker or need to assemble them you need to know in advance. Bottom line it is their marketing strategy like Gideon's is putting on a limit and the virtual queue etc. All you know for certain is that they will have chocolate chip. Hard to believe that this place started in 2017 but if I am not mistaken, Gideon's started around the same time.

To me, Crumbl cookies are comparable to Kinetic Sand. I HATE the texture. My favorite “bought” cookie is Jimmy John’s chocolate chip!

Here's the box I picked up today: pumpkin, dirt cake, animal cookie, monster, sugar, and chocolate chip.

So far I've tried a piece of the dirt cake and the sugar. I did like the dirt cake but the outer edge of the sugar was more crumbly than I expected. I also picked up a box of 4 for a client I visited tonight. I was disappointed when they opened the box and the dirt cake lacked its dirt and gummy worm. Felt like I got cheated.
Having not tried Gideons (walked by when in DS in August but decided to wait until after dinner and at that point the line was insane) I can't compare. Some other posts mentioned Tiff's treats, and I do like those, but I feel like they look like a smashed mess by the end of the day. I send these to clients sometimes. I do like a place called Texas Cookie Company but I don't believe it is a chain.
I'd probably get Crumbl again but only if I have business in the area. I'd pre-order the minis too.
