Cruising without my kids

We will be sailing next year for the first time without ours, but they are in college! Don't be like us and wait so long. Love my kids to death, but there are so many benefits to traveling without them - it gives you time to reconnect, you can travel in the off season (we can't wait!), it's less expensive, it will greatly reduce complaining, we can do stuff that fits our tastes more often, and it will make my kids appreciate it more when we do take them. We've done a few small trips without them, but looing back, I wish we had been better about doing a few bigger ones on our own too. They got to the point where they didn't really appreciate the sacrifices we made to pay for the trips, or even the time and energy that went into planning some of them. I blame myself for letting it get to that point. Learn from my mistakes.

Am I crazy for sailing without my kids? My husband and I booked a last minute cruise for our Anniversary without the kids but I'm scared that I will regret not having them with me. Has anyone regretted going sans kids?
Uhhh…NO lol
Went on a sister’s cruise on the Dream in 2019, left kids at home. Palo every night…going on the Wish with just my sister May 2022…
And went on the Wonder for a 5-night repo cruise San Juan to New Orleans in February 2020 just before everything shut down with just my husband for our anniversary (we went on the Wonder for our Honeymoon, she‘s my fav)
We have four kids…enjoyed the different dynamic of adults only.
We did just get back from a family trip on the Fantasy with everyone, so it’s not like they haven’t been. I am tossing around the idea of booking an IGT room for just my oldest son and I for his birthday, he’ll be 19, so adult stuff!
We have been fortunate in that we have both sets of grandparents in our area to watch our kids for us when we travel together on trips…if you have someone who is willing to do that for you, yes, go!

We did our first cruise without kids in October of 2021 (after 6 DCL cruises with the kids). I could hear some disappointment in their voice - oldest in college and youngest had marching band obligations but we went anyways. We had a blast! We had so much fun that we are going again in October 2022 and booked one for October 2023 without kids. We did take the kids this summer on the 9-night cruise but now that they are both in college we are going to go without them. And as FL residents - it is sometime cheaper to go off-season for better rates. Enjoy and have fun. No regrets! One day our children will go on vacation without Mom and Dad!
