We are booked on the September 20th Magic sailing. Turns out that is the final Magic sailing before the ship goes into dry dock.

I'm wondering if this will affect our cruise experience at all. For instance, if this is the final week for the ESPN bar will it still be open and will it have the same offerings it normally does? Do you think that more or less maintenance work will be getting done on the ship during this week?

Perhaps I'm just being a worry wart but we've talked some friends into going on the cruise with us and I'd hate for them to see the ship in less than it's usual magnificence. Also the DH of the couple is a huge sports fan so the promise of the ESPN bar was very important to his decision to come.

What do all you Disney experts think?

I think everything will be as normal on your cruise, it won't lessen your experience at all to be sailing the week before dry dock. Enjoy! :)

Besides, if the item I recall reading about the ESPN club being removed is correct, your friend might be really disappointed if you wait to sail until after dry-dock.
