Do Disney dollars work on the ship as they do at the parks & resorts??
I usually save a bunch before our WDW trips, wondering if I should do the same for the cruise.
Thanks!!

They can be applied to your account only. They don't accept them anywhere else. But they definitely take them.

The only way to purchase something on the ship or Castaway Cay is with your "Key to the World" card. However, if you have Disney Dollars they will except them at guest services to put towards your stateroom account.

Disney Dollars are still great gifts for kids. DS gets to spend on his card (with adult supervision!) but has to use his DD to go pay up on his card throughout the week.

I have been purchasing $100 in Disney Dollars each month to save for our cruise in Jan. By the time we leave we'll have $800-$900. I'll go straight to guest services and put them towards our account. It's a great way for us to "save" money before the cruise.
