Cruising on the Wonder Jan.29, 09

YIPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Tomorrow is our cruise everyone!!! Hip hip HOORAY!!!

See you all onboard!

Just got back from work. Time to pack.

We are staying in 7627 next to the secret verandah. My wife decided to participate in the FE and hope it's not too late.

We will see everybodytomorrow at 2:30 pm.

We almost missed the boat!!!!!!
We were scheduled to fly out on weds and southwest cancleled all flights due to the ice storm - and had NOTHING on thurs - so we regrouped and were able to get out on UsAirways on thurs and we made it! But we missed the meet - I want to thank all of you for the really neat FE gifts - and hope that everyone had a great time as we did - I believe that we had a Clayton sighting in Bingo on Pirate night!!!!!

We just got home and had a great trip. We were disappointed about not getting to go to the island on Saturday...but we had fun anyway. My kids were swimming on Saturday night and I was bundled up beside the pool. The pool looked like a wave pool that night! Hope everyone had a great time also!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to thank everyone for the AWESOME FE gifts! They were great and very creative!
We missed the meet as I lost track of time and didn't look at the clock until almost 3:00 - we made our way to the secret deck but had missed everyone. Did run into a few of you around the ship though!

hm21999 - glad you guys made it - it must have been pretty stressful! I was so worried my parents wouldn't get to the ship too (coming from New England) but lucklily they ended up switching their flights from Wednesday to Tuesday.

Anybody rebook onboard? We booked the Western for the same time next year.

Hi all. We got home after a very long travel day (we got home 1am east coast time) so I think everyone took today off from work.

Thanks to all for the really amazing gifts. It was a lot of fun and I know Clayton really enjoyed all of the surprises.

I didn't make the meet, knew we wouldn't as we got onto the boat late. However, I did get to meet samily in the elevator for 5 seconds on our very last night. And yes, lots of our group never missed bingo so I'm sure there was some Clayton crew sightings in Wavebands with the bingo.

No rebooking here. We had so much fun as a group that my husband's ex wife is in charge of the trip for next Jan. She said it might be another DCL but she wants to check out some of the family all inclusive resorts too. I'm just excited that it will be someone other than me doing all of the planning.

Welcome home everyone! We went and looked at all the fish extenders and doors - very nice!!

We too had a Clayton sighting - a few of you were at our emergency drill station (deck 4 P - I believe port side). Melita, our drill leader, sure had a lot of energy - I know she was the lead "good" pirate singer and was in the other "party" dance groups.

I recognized Nat and her family from the signature pics of course. We saw them throughout the cruise too - we had the same dining rotation. Did anyone who had PTA consider the AP dinner to be too rushed? We had a replacement server because ours had fallen ill so maybe that was the problem.

Guess it's back to the real world - temp 30F and the remaining 6 inches of snow!

Had a great cruise even without CC. The boys had a great time walking in/out of our room and seeing something different in their FE. Some of you are way more creative than I am.

Sorry to have missed the meet before we sailed. Had one kiddo who had a barking cough and just felt awful who wanted to lay down in the room. Guess who got to stay with him and unpack? Have to tell on myself. When I finished unpacking I noticed we were missing every single piece of underwear! I had packed and repacked the night before and apparently packed all of them in a bag we left in the car. DH got the okay to run off the ship at 3:15ish and was back on and in our room at 3:25! He said security was laughing that they didn't even need to scan him since they watched him sprint out and back. Good thing my DH is pretty even tempered. Later figured out that my tags with everyone's room numbers were at home. NOt much he could do about that. I used to be blonde but not that blonde. Just not my finer moment.

We did not rebook on the cruise. We booked online and got 40% off on this trip and would probably use that site again if we opt for it later. I don't think DH really realized how much this trip cost in total or he would have had a heart attack. LOL He pays the bills but little by little while I do the booking.

I did get to see some of the Pakey family at bingo time. Not that many people with the name Neil spelled like my son, so I recognized the name. Teased him in a note about winning everything at bingo! I did actually win one game for $40. I think I ran into the exwife in the hall while out delivering stuff since she wanted to know if I was looking for you.

Hey everyone!

Thanks for all the great FE gifts. I wish that I would have met you guys.
I hope that everyone had as great a time as we did.

Nope we did'nt rebook. I don't think 10% is that much of an incentive.

Ollies, Neil and his wife kept your note, they loved it so much. It will go into a scrapbook.

The two younger sons, Neil and Bryceton, loved that Bingo and never missed a game. They both won several times and Bryceton finally hit a big enough one on the last session that he came home with enough money to buy a Playstation 3. He got engaged on this trip so I'm not sure his new fiancee thought this was a good use of the winnings but he was pretty excited. Of course there was no hint that maybe mom could have used some of her money back.

Oh and thanks for the wine. The ex-wife bought me a few drinks but not one of those 3 kids did.

Coasterfiend, that was us at the P drill station, the ex and her husband and my husband and I. Those Clayton shirts really made us stand out!!!!! Also the fact that Steve (the ex's husband) came out there sporting a child's life vest. :rotfl2:

That's right someone was wearing a child's life vest - I hadn't seen the backs of the t-shirts at that point so I didn't realize he was with you :lmao:

I had a massage from 2-3:15 so I was kind of in a fog during the drill anyway!

The FE gifts were amazing!!! I couldn't belive how many there were! Next time I'll know to do a bit more shopping!
We ended up with so many cool gifts!
We also got things from the DVC and Castaway Club! Plus the kids clubs!!
Coasterfiend... I didn't know we were being watched. :rotfl2:

It was great meeting a few of you - I just wish I was able to meet everyone. I also saw Clayton all over the ship! He's a little cutie!

We did re-book. Figured I could cancel if I changed my mind.

Did you guys get a gift at the end of the cruise? There was a gift bag on our door from the cruise line saying the were sorry about Castaway Cay and hope to see us again. It had a Castaway T-Shirt in there for each of us. It was nice. But - I didn't see the gift bag on any other door. :confused3

No gift for us. Wonder if it was because you rebooked while onboard. We are looking at booking a trip with two stops at CC.

Pakey that is funny that your kids liked the note. The first game I played there weren't very many people there and your group was by far the biggest. The Neil name helps stand out too for us.

Has the floor/ground stopped moving for everyone yet?

When we got off the boat the ground was moving big time!! I think they thought I was drunk when we checked in at the boardwalk!! :rotfl2:

I think today is the first day it hasn't felt like the earth was moving for me! Such a strange feeling, and my husband didn't have it all, I must have had it for at least 3 days!

Jealous you got a shirt Nat, thats awesome!! I think they should give us all free upgrades on our next cruise since we didn't get to go to CC. Don't you guys think that is fair?? :thumbsup2 LOL

No shirts for us either. And I get home to find out that our AbD Costa Rica trip has been cancelled. I'm thinking 09 isn't the travel year for us. We don't know if we are going to try to rebook Costa Rica at a different time or perhaps do something else.

I didn't feel any movement at all after getting off the boat. Nobody else in our group mentioned it either. Of course we did have 9 hours sitting at the airport to get adjusted. Dang, it was a long day.

I wonder if the free t-shirt thing was because I had mentioned to a few cast members (including the captain) that we had been on three Disney Cruises and had only been to castaway cay once. :confused3 Who knows... but it was a nice treat and a BIG surprise.

Nat - just "occasionally observed", unfortunatley it was never at a time when I could get over to introduce myself. That's great about the T-shirts :thumbsup2 We didn't get any either.

I did get a special plate full of chocolate dipped strawberries the second night. I had asked at dinner on Thursday if they had any and was told no but they would see what they could do. At Tritions our head server brought me over a whole dinner plate full to take back to the cabin - DH and I were headed to Palo and had just come down to sit with the boys for a while. It was a great treat later that night and I din't have to hunt them down for myself on the buffet or at the midnight snack service!

As for the rockin and rollin only my ds and dn seemed to have a problem. DS mentioned he still noticed it on Tuesday.

It took DH a few day s to shake his "green" feelings.
As wave as it got it was'nt bad for me. I was pleasantly surprised.
Hopefully in a couple of years he will forget that and maybe we'll go again.

We did get champain and treats in the room from our TA . Other then that , no freebees.

I was looking forward to CC. We did'nt care for Nassau aside from the view from the boat. We went into town, but it bothered my DD7.Her ASD symptoms came into play . I think because it was so busy and such. We did managed to hit a couple shops. I bought some tshirts and some rum and rum cakes. The rest of the day was on the boat.
I took advantage of a spa special. It was wonderful. I wish we had a rainforest room near by.:p
To me 3 days was not enough. :beach:

no freebies here either! BF was a little wobbly but was ok after a day - I agree that 3 days is not nearly enough - i think the 5 night would be perfect - we did not book onboard as BF and i were talking and think that our next trip is going to be a honeymoon in summer of 2010 - funny since we arent engaged yet :rotfl2: and although we loved the disney cruise we are looking at st. lucia for that trip - next time we go on disney cruise we are going to bring along a friend for DD - she was little too shy to go to the kids club by herslef even though she loved it for the whole 30 mins she was there - guess mom is too much fun....
