If you use points for the first person, then pay cash for the second, is the cash price comparable to a TA's price or is it closer to the full rack rate price? Assuming of course that you are booking 6+ months out. Thanks!

I have emailed this question to my husband that did some "investigating" when we were getting ready to book our cruise on points. We had enough points for 2 and then would have needed to pay cash for our dd who is adult age considered. We ended up buying more points because in our eyes it was going to be "cheaper" because the comparision is:

1)put money into a person for a one time cruise or
2) put money into buying more points that will be usuable for future trips over the next 40 years...at about the same price....

So hopefully he can help you on this some.

It is higher than a TA's price, generally, but is less than the full rack price.
