Can someone please help answer this question?

Our use year is February (210 points)

We reserved a cruise for June 2003 after banking this year's 210 points. (The stateroom will be 360 pts. total).

What are the consequences associated with cancelling?

Thanks for any advice.

Chris

If you cancel more than 30 days ahead, the points will go back into the use year they came from (banked points won't be unbanked, but will return to the 03/04 use year). They will be 'reservation" points and cannot be used at a DVC resort.

When you booked your cruise, the points you used were converted to "reservation" points. That means they can no longer be used to book a stay at any of the DVC resorts.

If you cancel the cruise, the reservation points will be returned to your 2003 use year and they will have to be used by the end of the 2003 use year or they will be forfeited. Reservation points cannot be banked.

Reservation points can be used to book a stay at any of the resorts in the Disney Collection (including another cruise), the Concierge Collection or the Adventurer Collection. They cannot be used for an exchange through Interval International.

HTH. There are more details in you Member Handbook. Be sure to review the penalties/cancellation deadlines and cancel in time to avoid them if you can.

You will also need to cancel at least 60 days in advance to avoid penaties assessed by DCL.
