Cruising on June 28trh

Wow I'm getting more and more excited when I log on and read about everyone's families and plans. Everyone seems so friendly and eager to help.

Texag87- I also have a 9 yo daughter. We will also be staying at the airport Hyatt the night before. I think our flight gets in a little late (sometime around 9pm), but maybe the girls could get together to meet in the morning at the hotel.

SoCalMufasa- Glad to see some fellow Orange County folks are on board. We are from Irvine.

Howdy!
Our little family group includes my 21 yr old DD and her 20 yr old friend; my 11 yr old nephew; my 9 yr old neice and my 5 yr old neice. Along with the little ones are an assortment of over 60 folks; a smattering of 40 yrs olds and one 49 year old that along with me is celebrating 25 yrs of wedded bliss (or close enough).

For packing - I like these tips - http://www.cruisediva.com/pack_it.htm

For planning - I'm trying to follow this timeline - http://www.cruisediva.com/things_to_do.htm

For maintaining what little sanity I have left - the June 28th cruisers!

Hi everybody! Boy are we a large group now. I have lost count of everyone's names and children. I must go back and write them down.

Rdy2cruise- Is your 15 yr old a boy or girl. I have a DD14 and son 20.

This is a large group. My 15 year old is a boy. My 11 year old is a girl and 7 and 5 year old are boys. My poor daughter is the only girl in bunch :(

Im really getting excited about this cruise. Sounds like it will be wonderful.

Robin

Good news Redy- I have 2- 11 yr old girls also. We are staying at the Radisson on the 27th and eating around the pool area. You should join us if you are around. My DD is Lindsey and the other girl is her friend Kelsi. They are both going into 6th grade- which is middle school here in northern Fl. This cruise is a little celebration for them- from one step in their lives to another. Look forward to meeting everyone.

Thedisneymom's son has volunteered to be an escort for the 2 older girls or at least that is way I remember it. She has vouched for his character but of course I'm not sure I can return the favor for the girls! :p After being away at college for 3 yrs they are definitely quite grown up.

Hi all! We are late-comers to this thread. My DW and I are going to be on this cruise as the second half of a back to back. We are going as an extended family on the western half on 6-21 and then booting everybody off so Mommy and Daddy can have some private face time on the eastern. We look forward to chatting as time draws near. I hope you are all as exited as Debbie and I are. Wes:earsgirl: :earsboy:

Hi newcomers!!! Nothing new to add for everyone else, but just thought I'd say Hi so you don't forget me!!! What a bunch we're going to have! Just remember everyone, I'm first in line for desserts! LOL

WRH3MD - how exciting to be on the cruise 2 weeks in a row! You can fill us all in on the best foods, activities, etc.

Hope you'll all be able to make the Dis meet deck 10 port side at sailaway. How big is Deck 10? LOL Remember to wear your Mickey Green name badges. I'll try to bring extra and pins. I'm terrible with names, and now we'll have DIS names, real names, kids names, etc. to keep up with

We are staying at the radisson too, but wont be in until very late on the 27th. Hope to meet everyone on the ship!

My daughter was exicited to hear about your daughter and her friend going. My daughter will be going into the 6th grade also.

Were really excited about this cruise.

Hi everybody! My daughter graduates on Saturday. After that I will begin packing and organizing. Let the fun begin.

Samsma-
I don't have a green nametag so I would love one of yours. Thanks. Oh, by the way, I AM FIRST ON LINE for dessert. :p

Stewblue- What a terrible life my son has. Cruisin' on the Magic with two girls

Rdy2cruise-I'm glad there is a 15 year old in the teen club. At least my daughter will know someone there.
Have a nice day.

thedisneymom- You'd better back off girlfriend. Unless of course that was you with the foot stomping action July 4, 2001. We'll talk about sharing. Hope no one else is hungry. LOL

Things are beginning to come together!!
We have cattery reservations for the terrible trio; actually confirmed the excursions are booked; have an additional copy of DH birth certificate (needed because the one he has is odd); ordered some cabin treats; ordered tux; have clothes.....

I am actually beginning to breath!!! I don't always make a lot of sense but at least I'm calmer now.

If I wanted to order a gift basket, but not one through Disney, who do I look for? I heard people talk about "The Perfect Gift" but I can't find a web site.

Ideas?

Just a quick note. As I understand it you are all going to meet on Deck 10 portside opposite goofy pool, correct? I would also suggest something we've done on recent cruises which takes into account the fact that some people (usually DW and I) are off doing somehting else and miss the meet. We've had other Dissers gather with us in the Promenade lounge at around ten pm Saturday night after late seating has let out and its time for a cold one. That way the kids are off doing their own thing and the adults can gather around for a face to face and a couple of adult beverages. Kids, of course, are most welcome too. I hope we can all gather then just in case some of us fail to get to the shoving off party (like my DW and I)... Wes

I can definitely relate to the need for a "cold one" as long as that includes funny drinks with cute umbrellas. I like the idea of a follow-up meet for the folks who are still out and about reserving; signing-up; finding things; unpacking; or just in a general puddle because they are finally on ship and can take time to relax.

It is about this time that you realize you did pack the ducktape but forgot the shirt that goes with the tux and you're starting to wonder if using the towels would let you make something that worked well enough.

That does sound like a plan! We did this same thing last year with a couple of other families (actually just the adults meet though). We met on the side by Signals and really enjoyed ourselves as well as got to know each other a little!

Hi everyone. Sorry I mussed checking in today, Very busy with graduation approaching. This is really sounding great with a backup plan and all our cruising buddies. See u soon.
