Hi All, We've never sailed on DCL during summer due to costs but I figure if I'm going to try it, it needs to be when it's first released. With that said, I'm looking to hear how it is in the summer. Do you like it? TOOOOOO hot? Also, what about during March? How is the weather been? I'd love to hear from those of you out there who cruise in summer/spring months.

Okay, one more. Week of Christmas. Is it great just after or during Christmas? Guess you can say I have a lot to ask about. Trying to figure out best time during DS's school break to cruise. March/June (his b'day) or Christmas holiday break.

Thanks all

We've cruised in summer lots of times, and yes it's hot, but we were either in the pool, on a beach or inside freezing in the AC. It's not like camping where it would be a real issue. December can be iffy for pool time, and maybe beaches. It's apt to be cold and rainy sometimes.

I've never cruised during the holidays, but I think you'd be paying a premium price for that time of year, same as WDW. Depending on Easter, you might be paying more for a spring cruise too. But if it doesn't matter, pick a time that works for your family.

We are cruising over Christmas this year... I'll get back to you :) We booked opening day prices and it was relatively inexpensive ( for a Disney Cruise).

We normally only cruise during the summer and I never find it hot. I generally wear a light jacket in the evening, but I'm from Texas so it has to be really hot for me to think its hot.

We have sailed twice during March and it's rather chilly and the water seems freezing, but again, I'm used to warm. Have to think about what you are used to.

Book early :) Sail Happy :)

I have only cruised in July so I have no comparison but I can say that I never felt like it was "too hot" - it was normal, summer, caribbean hot!

We've cruised in Jan, Feb, June x2, August, & October. (Take into consideration that we live in Florida, so we love warm weather & aren't coming from a cold place up north). My fave month to cruise is August & DH likes June. The water at CC is warm & it's perfect on the ships.

We're cruising in Dec & March next, so we'll see how those are, but I have a feeling since they are colder months, we're still going to choose our respective summer months.

It depends on where you're going. Alaska is a cool(!) place to cruise in the summer. 8^) We've also been uncomfortably hot on a Panama Canal cruise in January.

Christmas is quite expensive(!) Castaway Cay was warm enough to play in the sand but we didn't spend any time in the water. But we're desert rats and don't like to go swimming unless the water is as warm as bath water.

We have cruised July, June and over New Years. Our first was july. My youngest hasa heart disease so he has trouble regulating his body temp and really doesn't do well in extreme heat. The only times he had trouble was dancing at the Pirate party and Nassau. We loved the NYE cruise. It was warm enough to lay on deck during the day and I didn't have to constantly get in the pool to cool off. The water at CC was a bit chilly in the morning but we were all fine in it (even my youngest who also has trouble with cold) by noon. June was warm, but never miserably hot.

We normally cruise in August. Last year it was to Alaska....Definitely not hot...more on the cold side.

In the Bahamas, while on the ship, I don't know about too hot as you have the ocean breeze that blows as the ship is moving, the pools, drinks, and FREE ICE CREAM that help make it seem better. In ports, I know many like beach days and take advantage of the temps, we like to explore the towns, and go through the shops as we need to cool off. I would say it isn't too hot, but that is my opinion.

My summer cruises have been to cooler climates: Alaska, Scandinavia, British Isles. I wouldn't cruise in the Caribbean during summer, and usually don't go to FL during the summer, except for special occasions like my nephew's wedding in July.
