Cruisin' MAYniacs - May 14-17, 2009

For some reason, I am up at the crack of dawn on cruises ... and I love it. I usually let my husband sleep in ... and I take the kids up to watch the sunrise and to hang out ... I have a few pics from our first time on the Wonder ... I will post them when I get home later.

It's such a peaceful time of the day!!

Ah...the early morning run...I have to tell you ater being in the Navy for some time, there is nothing like an early morning run. It's sets the theme for the day. I usually only run about 3 miles (approx 12 times around Deck 4). It's a great run and by the time I finish we are usually pulling into port. If you'd like to run/walk, come on down...Bring your i-Pod, load it with some good tunes (island/rock/country - whatever you like) and lets go get some exercise. I use it as an excuse to eat more, especially dessert...

Thanks to everyone for all the welcomes! We are so excited! We got our documents yesterday and it all just seems overwhelming! I'm sure we'll figure it all out. I didn't realize you could get a run in on the ship....mmmm....might be something I need to think about. I Love Mornings! Then again, I love relaxing, not thinking about excercise and making up for it when we are home. I can't wait for early morning coffee and a sunrise. That sounds beautiful!:cloud9:

I was in the regular army.... Fort jackson SC... But Still to this day I can not run for nothing! I could give it a great try!

OK...so let's talk about the running...As a former Naval Operator I enjoy an early morning run, good for the soul. A good ealry morning run is good for you. Don't put off your goals until after your cruise...start while onboard. It's good motivation.

If anyone is interested let me know, especially former service.

It's really not too difficult to stay on plan while in Disney. Now the cruise, I dunno.... But I will give it my all. I eat mostly low carb. I feel best that way. Bread and other refined carbs make me feel like crap but I am a carb addict! LOL. I would love to go for a run or at least a light jog, so I am up for it

I used to enjoy running ... but I had major back surgery just about 7 months ago (scraped out two discs and fused 3 vertebrae together) and so my running days are over for now ... but I can do a brisk walk!!!

I'm with Kat. I started the Couch to 5K program last spring. I wasn't done but had worked myself up to running about 30 minutes each day. I felt so good, physically and mentally, while I was running. Then I hurt my back, ended up with a herniated disk and just finished physical therapy for it. So I'm sticking with walking for now. We'll see if I make it up that early on the cruise - guess it depends on how late we stay up each night! :coffee:

Here are the pictures I promised!! I made a quick slideshow. This was on the Wonder in October of 2006 - our very first disney cruise. :cloud9:

I got up very early and took the kids with me for some early morning fun ... we even ran into Christiaan the Cruise Director and he hung out with us for a few. I love him ... wish he was going to be on the Wonder this time around but I heard that he is not.

Those are great photos, reminds me of the sun rising in Cancun!

Great pics! My son is ready to check out the basketball court on the ship. Of all things for him to get excited about while watching the planning video :confused3.

Diana....I just had to share this!

I told you that Kasey was excited about there being another Casey on the cruise especially since they are close in age. Well her and Austyn wanted to see pics of everyone so I showed them last night.

Austyn sees your Casey's pic and says "Wow Mom they even look the same!". I had not even thought about it....but shortly after me posting pictures of my Kasey she got her hair all cut. Here she is now...short like your Casey...too cute...just wanted to share! Not the best pic because of the wind but it is the most recent.
