cruises!

hey everyone i'm kind of sort of new here (i've been "lurking" around) and my parents have decided that they would like to do a cruise in may. i'm really excited to go and all, but i'm a bit nervous.. i'm an only child and i was just wondering if i can go into the teen club and just read or listen to music? or is it just for hanging out? i'm a little confused and any help would be greatly appreciated

I am going on my 6th cruise in November! You should be able to just do whatever you want to in there.... They will probably ask you every now and then if you want to do something, but you dont have to.

If you want my opinion, cause those are my 2 of my favorite things to do, I would just go to deck 10 (or deck 11, whichever ship you are on ), or on your verandah, (if you have one). Your verandah is a little bit more private, but they are both absolutely beautiful places to go and just watch the world go by!

awe thank you! we're going on the dream.. what exactly are on those decks? is it just a wide open deck? or is it the one with a pool? because i went on the disney cruise site to look at the teen area and it looks like i can just sit outside?

I went on an Alaska cruise and I loved the teen club!! I do have a sister but I met my BFF during the trip.

Awww you're gonna have a great time! Well, i think it depends on the ship that you're on where you do, but for all (or most) of the ships it's Edge and Vibe. I only know the deck numbers for the Dream so here they are! If you're 13 or under you'd go to Edge on Deck 13 inside the tower/ stack thing, and if you're 14 or older then you'd go to Vibe on Deck 5 i think (haha i can't remember which one it is) and both of them are really cool! On the Dream (idk about any of the other ships), Vibe has their own little sun deck on the bow of the ship- it has all kinds of chairs and chaises for reading and getting some sun and they have a splash pool type thing, with little fountains and jets and all that good stuff!

I know it all sounds really confusing, but when you're in the terminal and checking in, just ask the girl/ guy checking you in about it and they will know EVERYTHING! And if they don't know something, they'll find out for you. Good luck and have fun on your cruise!!

I've never gone to the teen club to read a book or just listen to music, so I'm not sure if they're against that or not, but I don't see the big deal with it. As aoither only child, I have had my mom find another girl on the cruise that was my age so we can email/text/ send letters to eachother, then you have a buddy on the ship and you won't be so alone all the time

I'm any only child too, I was 14 when I first cruised DCL. I'm shy(always have been, 23 now), but I made a lot of friends on all of my cruises(been on 13, with more booked)

i really hope i can make friends, i talk to almost anyone but i get shy sometimes when taking people. i know one of my friends went on a cruise, not a disney one, and he met his girlfriend on there.. she only lived a few hours away. i know that might not happen but it would be nice to make friends!

Oh my gosh.... I went on the Dream this August! It's the MOST amazing thing ever, from the minute you step into the main entrance... I was in the tween club , but to be honest it just wasn't my favorite, because I act more mature/older than them. I ended up going in the kids club (the Oceaneer club) with my one sister. I was mainly just walking around the ship, swimming, going on the aquaduck, on Castaway Key (gotta eat a cookie's!!!). Sadly our trip was kinda bad in a way because my sister had to get medically evacuated off the ship on the third day (5 day cruise) (due to medical reasons). But you will love it! It's AMAZING...!

this gives me hope hahaha i was also worried if i would like it or not. my mom is worried we'll get sea sick... can you feel the ship moving?
