Cruises where kids are free?

Can you tell me which cruise line offers kids going for free with adults?

Check on CruiseCritic.com it's a great source for cruise information. I know that MSC has kids free, almost all cruise lines have greatly reduced prices for 3rd and 4th guests in a cabin. We've cruised Holland America and Royal Carribean--loved them both.

We're taking our kids for free on the Disney cruise in early Feb. Not sure if the special is still going on, but I think it was for 3 and 4 day cruises only during the upcoming winter/spring months. Go over to the cruise board for more info.

MSC Cruises. Kids age 17 and under as 3rd/4th pax in a stateroom sail free (you must still pay tax) on all sailings.

Costa had some kids sail free sailings a while back. We are cruising on Costa Atlantica out of Fort Lauderdale for Spring break for a ridiculously low price.

You need to look at the overall price for 3 or 4 people in a cabin rather than concentrating on "free". If the 1st and 2nd passengers are 2x what they would be on another cruise line its not much of a deal. Disney may offer 3rd and 4th free, but you can probably take 2 Carnival cruises for the price of that Disney cruise, KWIM?

I really don't even know where we would want to go!!

We live in Texas and there is a port in Galveston. I would love to find a cruise out of there so we could eliminate airfare for 4 people! But I am definitely not opposed to a non disney cruise!!

Galveston is probably your best bet. A good site I use to compare prices and shop is cruise.com I have a PVP with Carnival that I book through but use that site for prices. There are several ships out of Galveston so you should have a few choices at least to get you started.

i'm here on the west coast. I can cruise from San diego, long beach or san pedro. I just need a good deal. Wish there was a cruise line close by that offered kids sail free. We want to do an Alaska cruise (July)but its turning out to be to pricey especially with airfare on top of that. Then Hawaii sounds good and i think cheaper than alaska but dunno 2 weeks might be to much off work time for dh. If nothing works out then Mexican rivera might be the place to go but not sure how good of a deal Thanksgving week.

We live near Baltimore, and just recently discovered that a couple of lines sail from here. The carnival one is pretty cheap overall, and the 3rd and 4th passengers are pretty cheap too. Definitely saves to not have airfare! Plus, when we took the Disney cruise we flew in the day before (would always recommend that), so you need a hotel the night before. That added up to a lot! I wouldn't do that one again, but that is just me.

I would definitely check out cruises from near you. I also agree - if kids are free, you need to compare the total cost of the cruise, for each passenger.

Cruise cabins are pretty small - on Disney, we had two connecting inside cabins. I could never have shared a cabin for all 4 of us! When I priced it out, it was only $50 more than all 4 of us sharing an inside cabin. Kids weren't very much discounted on that cruise.

when you look at pricing on the Costa website, it is for the whole cabin, not just per person. Then you can get a better price from bestpricecruises or crucon, etc. When a child is the second passenger in a cabin, not a 3rd or 4th, the rate is still lower than an adult, though not free like the third one.

I am looking into a cruise for my son's graduation present. There would be four of us, my daughter is 15. Would we need two cabins? It seems the price is just a little higher for two versus one. We have never done a cruise.

I've had clients sail Carnival (Conquest) out of Galveston and like it.
For 2010 the 2 ships sailing from there will be Carnival Ecstasy and RCCL Voyager of the Seas.
Voyager of the Seas for me is a hand-down winner. Those Voyager class ships are awesome.

If the price is only a little more, go with the 2 cabins. Fitting 4 in one cabin for a week is no fun! Especially on RCCL. Those cabins are tiny! But then I have 2 teen girls with flat irons, three barrel crimpers, curling irons, make up bags, etc. You can get 2 connecting rooms with a door in between them that opens up so its like one big room (plus you get 2 bathrooms!).

We haven't gone yet but I booked my husband and step daughter on a 7 day out of Galveston in April on Royal Carribean. They have a TX resident discount and the cheapest rate was $500-600 pp. I thought that was great after being used to paying DCL rates

We sailed on Norweigan out of Galveston in 1999 and loved it!!! We had friends in Houston that we were visiting for a few days prior so this was perfect for us!

Cruises.com has great info on prices, and cruisecritic.com is a message board that has great info on intineraries.
