Minimal. Although Hurricane Season officially runs through November 30, the peak of activity occurs between mid-August and mid-October. There's much less history of disruptive storms during November.
When we were on our cruise a couple of years ago, there was a tropical storm/brewing hurricane in the vicinity. The Captain quickly decided to re-route our ship. We had a great time--we didn't get to go to Nassau, but we did get to go Key West instead, and it was great!
Not to worry. Even if there is a hurricane, it is very unlikely that your trip will be cancelled.
It might become a mystery cruise, but in a way, the surprise destination(s) is a fun thing. It will all be okay.
Last year, Hurricane Lili diverted us (me, my Mom Lilly who was on her first cruise, and my son Michael) to Puerto Rico, CC twice, and St. Thomas instead of the Western itinerary.
My budding meteorologist son says that he wants Hurricane Michael to show up so we can get diverted again.
Hey, we had great weather, calm seas and lots of fun!
