Cruise's (Chris) Accountability/Sap Journal :) (comments welcome)

Great restraint!!! Krispy Kreme's are a major temptation for me, so I don't even buy them anymore! Wow, I haven't had one in so long. Wonder if they still taste like they used to...*drool*

Way to go Chris!!! You are doing great!

Keep up the good work and in no time you will be at your goal.

You are doing so great! Don't you love it when your tight clothes fit? It's such an incentive to stay on track, isn't it?

I am with you on the Krispy Kreme - I really love the cream filled and don't care for the custard filled. Great job cutting it in half! Keep it up!

Great job! Isn't it amazing when you actually crave exercise! Keep up the good work. :sunny:

Hi Chris - I have a hankerin' for a good old burger as well. 98% beef is very good - I don't think that would be bad at all...what kind of bun do you use? Since I follow WW itry to get the Wonder Lite Buns for a point a pc. Not too bad.

Hope you have a great day and keep up the good work!

Yay! You're so close to your 15lb clippie, I bet you can taste it! And it tastes like fruit and veggies and water! :flower: Or maybe chocolate cake. Whichever you desire :cheer2:

Chris - great job with that Krispy Kreme, I'm not sure I would have had the willpower to say no to the whole thing. Go right ahead and have that burger, its not as bad as you think, especially if you make it at home. I had meatballs last night and since they were homemade I could easily figure out the cals and fat in each. Hope you had fun at Jazzercise last night :)

Well I had come home from Jazzercise, ate dinner, realized just before I finished dinner that I had to start my 12 hour fast for my bloodwork this morning and so went up to the computer to read journals and type in what I did yesterday and our internet was down. I was so upset because I needed to find something to get me off the mindset of needing to eat or drink a soda that I hadn't had all day (diet of course) and so I just went to bed. And that was at 8:30 last night!!!! I woke up at 4:30 and couldn't sleep so I tossed and turned because everyone else was sleeping and dd was down in the basement with the treadmill so couldn't do that. Oh well.

So here's how I did yesterday - not too bad:
breakfast fat free peach yogurt
1/2 krispy kreme custard
1 cup grapes

lunch ham sandwich w/fat free mayo
2 pickle slices
1 tomato
2 cups melons
cheese stick

snack 2 celery stalks
9 carrots
2 TBSP dip
100 calorie oreo

snack 2 fig newtons

dinner 4 ounces chicken
6 ounces potatoes
1 almond joy

Totals: 1457.5 calories, 28.1 fat grams, 232.7 carbs. Not a bad day for having part of a Krispy Kreme!!!

Today I'm going home for lunch and this will be the first time since I've started watching what I eat since we were on a different work schedule. I tend to not pay attention to how close I eat when I go home so this is a new challenge for me. If I don't feel I'm doing well enough, I'll start bringing my lunch to work and a book to read or go for a short walk. We'll see.

DD is not doing so well. She is a very lazy child and doesn't like to write things down - I think some of that stems from her being ADHD as well. So I really laid into her last night. We'll see how today goes. She is still working out but she only ate 2 grilled cheese, a cup of grapes, 6 ounces of chicken, and 6 ounces of potatoes yesterday. Although I do think I smelled her making popcorn when I got up to go to the bathroom about 9:30 last night. That's not nearly what she should be eating so I have to be the mean mom!!!! UGH

Okay - so everyone have a good day. Thanks for the words. Oh and lillygator - I wasn't going to have any bread with that hamburger when I make it because we don't get the Wonder Light buns here, just the bread. And I have a hard time eating a hamburger on bread - it's suppose to be on a bun!!!! :) I'll have to do some more looking at other stores to see if I can find it. I love their bread!!!

I'll check in on you all tonight if we have internet service.

Keep on
Chris

Hi chris, Yes I agree with you about talking with you DD. You are trying to help her make a better her. But you are on very sticky ground because she could really grow to resent you and hide things from you. If you catch her tell her that you heard her have popcorn last night and tell her the reasons why she should not have had it. What I would suggest is to keep a dry erase board on the fridge and write everything that you eat on it and tell her to write hers down on it also. It keeps it out in the open and she see what you eat and that might inspire her to beat you. Make it a challenge against each other. Daughters love to challenge moms. I know I did when I was younger. I even saw on a show that the family locked up the fridge and cabinets so the children couldn't get to them. Keep one cabinet open with tons of healthy food and that it. I am sorry if I am interfering it's just what she does reflects back to you as a parent. :grouphug: kardiebelle

Long time no see in your journal!!

Here is my teenagerly advice:

Hey there! I agree with Kardiebelle about the talking to her. What I did is I keep a bunch of snacks that are good and healthy right where I can see them. It also helps to hide all the have-to-live-with foods (like popcorn) in a place where only you can get them...and throw out all the junk foods. She'll have to start snacking healthy then! Make a reward system like I do for myself. I'd do like a mini-25 day challenge or go day by day. For every day you *snack healthy *exercise for 30 minutes *drink 2 bottles of water *does something good for her, like a bubble bath (modifiable), she gets a sticker. For every 5 or 10 stickers, she can "get something" non-food, time with you, a new CD...something she values. All this can be undone if she has an allowance because we can buy "ucky" snacks at school, mini-mart, etc.

Do you want me to send her a PM?

Many hugs-you seem to be taking names and kickin' bum! Awesome job!

Thanks guys. We do write everything down and keep it in a notebook on the table at our spots and we write it down together. Then we have a spreadsheet on the computer that we do together. She isn't the kind of kid that will resent me, we have a great relationship and she's glad that I'm helping her do this and glad that we are doing it together. If I weren't doing it with her, then it might be another story.

We have all sorts of good snacks in our house - I have thrown out all of the bad stuff. And the popcorn didn't upset me, it was the fact that she had eaten much yesterday that upset me. I don't care if she eats it, I just want her to eat all of her meals and get everything in.

The main thing that I was saying is that she's just lazy in keeping up with this which I knew she would be. I tried something similar to this about a year ago and it lasted a month and because I couldn't keep up with hers and mine she ran behind in it. She is a kid that has to be reminded and prodded and I'm sure it's due to her ADHD, even though she's on meds. But there comes a time where I give up because I can't do it all and I refuse to do it all because them I get tired and cranky and I'm not a pleasant person to be around. I dislike lazy people very much - people who HAVE to have others do things for them because they are too lazy to do it and my dd knows this.

Sorry to get off on a tangent but it isn't because there are things our house from stopping her - it's because she is lazy.

Hi Chris!!

You are just doing fantastic!! I loved hearing about your shorts fitting better...that is my favorite thing in the world when it happens to me!

Keep up the good work and you're being a fantastic mom!

Don't get discouraged with your DD! I know you want to help her succeed, but remember that only she can truly help herself succeed. You can merely give her guidance in the right direction, but she will ultimately decide which path she is going to take. I bet when she starts school back up and everyone notices how much weight she has lost, she will be a little more motivated.

Have you tried pre-planning meals? That way it is easier to journal. I start out my day with a list of what I'm going to eat and when, then check off the items as I go along. It helps me and maybe it will help remind her that she needs to eat (plus she'll be writing it down at the same time!)

Good luck to both of you, this is a long journey but you can make it!

Hi Chris!

Sorry to hear you are having some challenges with your DD and her progress. I am no parent, so take anything I say with a grain (or 10lbs bag!!) of salt! hehe! I know as a formerly fat child, that when my mom would bug me about dieting or what I was eating, I just found ways to get the food without her knowing. It is a hard line to walk with her I am sure, and I completely respect you for doing it!

Glad to hear your own eating is going well!! :) And you did do great for a day where the devilish Krispy Kremes rear their heads!! :goodvibes

Hope you are having a great night!
Mike

Thanks everyone I do appreciate it and sorry for responding harshly earlier. I know you were trying to help and I was taking some frustrations out in my post. I do apologize.

Well today went pretty well. I did not have a lot of idle time so I didn't get all of my food in today - that darned boss!!!! UGh - I also had a hard time drinking all of my water because 1) finding the time to actually drink it was hard and 2) finding time to get away to the bathroom was even harder. Tomorrow WILL be a better day - I will make sure of it!

I made this dish tonight that I've been dying to make for my family that I haven't made in probably 7 years. It was in an old Weight Watchers cookbook that I bought eons ago. It's called Upside Pizza Loaf (I accidentally left the cookbook upstairs so I'll try to post it tomorrow night or by the weekend). It's made with ground turkey but I used 96% lean ground sirloin because the fat content was much better than the turkey for the same amount of meat per serving, green pepper, onion, tomato sauce, fennel seed, oregano, basil, mozzarella cheese, egg, skim milk, flour. In the past I've also added more spice than it called for and added mushrooms. You brown the meat and onion, add 1 TBSP flour and stir for a minute, add the green pepper and spices, boil and reduce heat for a minute. Put in a 9 X 5 loaf pan (I use an 8 X 8 pan), add mozzarella on top. Beat in a bowl with a mixer egg, milk, flour and pour on top of meat mixture and cook for 25 to 30 minutes. It makes 4 servings so I cut the pan in 4 pieces and it was really yummy!!!! Then had green beans with it - I probably should have had salad but we were running very low on salad so I let dh have it because he needed it more than I did.

So here's what I had today - so far:
breakfast very berry fruit and oatmeal bar
fat free yogurt

lunch ham sandwich
1 tomato
2 pickle slices
1 cup cantelope

snack cheese stick
2 celery sticks
9 carrots
2 TBSP dip

dinner Upside Down Pizza Loaf
1 cup green beans

Totals are 955 calories, 25.6 fat grams, 132.5 carbs. I'm good on fat grams and need to have some more calories and carbs so I'm going to have some fat free frozen yogurt tonight with some light cool whip. I've been hungry for that lately.

Not working out tonight because my neck is bothering me - slept wrong - so taking it easy tonight. The plan for the rest of the week is workout tomorrow night, Thursday night and Friday morning. Celebrating father-in-laws 75th bday this weekend with the family so busy on Saturday and won't get to workout. If weather is nice on Sunday may go for a bike ride with dd but only if it's not too hot. Cake will be served on Sat night after dinner and already know I won't eat any - chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and filled with raspberry filling. I don't like chocolate cake, not a big fan of chocolate frosting and don't like raspberry filling. Which is sad because my ex-sister-in-law is making it and she makes good cakes. Oh well, I'll be better off for not eating it!!!!

Going to go read journals - everyone have a good night.
Keep on
Chris

Hi Chris!!

It's your journal, so no need to apologize for expressing your feelings!!! (Besides, I didn't think you were being harsh! hehe :goodvibes ) Vent away, it's why we're here, to listen and offer a shoulder to lean on!

Pizza Loaf sounds yummy!! I have been waiting to hear about it! Thanks for sharing it with all of us!

Hope your neck pain goes away soon! Isn't it cool when you know you won't even want the dessert?? Sadly, I have yet to find a dessert that i wouldn't mind spending the evening alone with! ;) LOL :rotfl:

Have fun journal surfing and have a great night!
Mike :flower:

No need to be sorry! I understand completely

Upside Down Pizza Loaf sounds DELISH!!!
