So pod cruisers who had cruised before on DCL let's talk food...

There is tons of back and forth on the cruise boards right now about the new menu's, the disappearance of the strip steak and chicken as the light options, the quality of food, the too much fancy foods on the menu's versus family fare and on and on.... Would love to know your opinions on the food this week on the Wonder versus your last DCL cruise... Is the Light Options menu of steak and chicken really gone. What can you share?

Can't compare to any previous cruise, but the menu at parrot cay was just ok.

animators palate and Triton were distinctly better fare. We ordered multiple appetizers entrees and deserts every night and will put together a food porn thread.

Palo (dinner) does get the reputation it deserves, dinner lasted 3.5 hours and we had 9 entrees (they scaled down the portions) so that we could try everything. Service was exceptional.

Palo (brunch) the hollandaise was exceptional on the eggs Benedict.

Parrot Cay - Just OK
Tritions - Would love to have on the double rotation, Very Good!
Animators Palate - Good
Palo Dinner - Great, deserts are the best part of dinner!
Palo Brunch - Food Nirvana, would do this every day if possible! :cheer2:
Room Service - They love a challenge! I try to give it to them around 3 AM every day

In general...
Deserts (out side of Palo) were less than expected (stay away from the nightly sweet temptations sampler - very Sara Lee)
The embarkation food (first meal you have) was terrible... eat a bag of McDonalds in the terminal!

The good news is that it gets way way better after the boarding meal

Wine selection - farily complete with a little bit for everyone, The one area lacking is premium vintage ports.

Liquor Selection - Also fairly complete... you will have to "hunt around" for certain brands (try Caddilac Lounge - bartender Samson, or Diversions - bartender Stani)

Beer Selection - really not good at all (simple fix = bring own beer) you have the usual bud, miller products, Guiness and Stella.... No Harp or other irish goodies, no stouts (other than indicated), no mexican or island beers... This was my number one comment on how to improve :thumbsup2
