I just returned from a 3 night cruise on the Disney Dream. We had a great time. I went with my friend Peggy & her daughter Melanie. Peg was with me on the maiden voyage of the Dream. This was Melanie's first cruise ever.
I have to say, I was VERY DISAPPOINTED in the food service. Both Peggy & Melanie have gluten allergy. If we hadn't experienced good service on the 2 previous cruises, I wouldn't be so upset figuring they still have some work to do on it. BUT, this was horrendous. They kept bringing frozen gluten free breads-they don't bake them on board just order the frozen ones. You'd think after the first time sending them back to be thawed, that they'd get it. They didn't. The food, when we got it was fine, but the other family at our table was served main course AND desert before we even got the main courses. Not so bad you'd think, BUT they ALSO dietary restrictions & special order meals. Very bad form not to serve everyone at once. Especially as Peggy had informed them of the gluten allergy when she booked and they had preordered their meals.
We had less difficuly at breakfast and lunch then we did with our main servers at dinner.
Oh, one other pet peeve. When are they going to change the shows????? They are still showing the same ones that they showed on the maiden voyage. Now I love seeing the shows, but enough already, put some new ones in place. There's only so many times one needs to see Golden Mickey Villans, & Dream. It's time to change them don't you agree?
