Are folks sending these in insured? If they are just sent with a tracking number but it doesn't get there, then what???

I am thinking of sending it insured. For like the cost of a cruise. :-)

Am I nuts?

I just made my reservation last Friday, and plan on sending mine through USPS with a tracking number only. I'm keeping a copy of the voucher in case it get lost.

OK- but, I had this very issue with a refund. The company claimed I had sent a copy not the original UPC code. Even though I had kept a copy and had the tracking number I did not get my rebate.

Thats why I am thinking I should insure it. Am I being paranoid?

I would like to think/hope Disney would have better customer service than the typical company you try to get a rebate or refund from.

I guess you should do what's comfortable to you.

For those who already booked, just how long did the voucher take to arrive once you signed papers? TIA :)

Ours came after our estimated closing date on our documents, so it was about a month.

Our original closing date on the documents was March 10th. We ended up completing all the documents at the Disney Doorway to Dreams store in Woodfield Mall, and giving them a canceled check to set up our direct payments. Turns out the check was never sent with the papers and somehow lost, so we actually closed on Friday, the 13th. :scared1: I called yesterday to ask when I would have the cruise voucher and they told me it would be another 4 weeks. I want to add the cruise on to the front of our September 27th trip, and buy my airfare soon (AirTran has a decent price at the moment) but I am afraid if I book the airfare the date I want to cruise will not be available. The wait is killing me!:rolleyes1

My voucher finally showed up today...so I called the Disney Cruise Line to book everything...no problem, got the date I want, got early dining, paid the upgrade for a room with a verandah. Then I asked to make sure that I was paying for and getting a verandah...not a navigator's verandah. They put me on hold, came back and said....that is not guaranteed, the category is guaranteed...but the actual cabin type is not. Cabins booked on the voucher are not assigned until just before the cruise! :headache:

Has anybody else out there asked if they are guaranteed to have a verandah?

I just received my confirmation in the mail from DCL and it states Cat 6 quarantee, so I wouldn't worry too much until after you see what your confirmation has on it.

You should be able to go to DCL's website and enter your confirmation number and see which category is listed.

Does anybody have the actual dates available for the incentive cruise? Thanks so much!

mine came today also..... curious, what's the upgrade fee to change up to a balcony stateroom?
It's $80 per person on the 3 night and $100 per person on the 4 night. Sorry, I don't remember the 7 night.

For the 7 night cruise it's $175 per person to upgrade to a category 6 with a verandah :)

My guide suggested that we send the cruise voucher with certified mail. So they will have to sign for delivery. But when we do it I will do the insurance thing also. You never know what could happen during delivery... :)

I was just wondering isn't all category 6 with a verandah? I received my voucher called and did the upgrade. I was on the website and it said I had a category 7. After reading other threads people were saying they got the category 6 I called DCL. The reservation person said she would change it to a 6 and that it was a verandah view. Could you please tell me the difference in the cabin types? I have never done a cruise before and am quite nervous. Everybody keeps saying get a room with a verandah and I thought I did.

category 7 is a navigators veranda. it is somewhat enclosed with a very large porthole opening on either deck 5, 6, or 7 aft. check out these links.

come over to the DCL boards on the DIS. go to the meet threads and find your cruise date.

Thanks You for the awesome links. Is there a better deck to be on so you don't feel the rocking of the ship?

We are set to close on April 2nd. I was told we would get the cruise voucher after we closed but it came 2 weeks ago and we have already booked our cruise and upgraded to a guaranteed verandah room. i wanted a category 6 and was told we are guaranteed at least a verandah that we could not request a certain category.:confused3

Somewhere in the back of my mind I think I remember reading Cat 7 are for 1 - 3 persons. We have 4 so I think it automatically put us up to Cat 6.
