I am trying to put together a compilation of cruise music. I have YMCA, macarena, electric and casper slides, "hey baby", ole ole ole, volcano (parrot cay), Can you Move it like this and Who Let the dogs out by the baha men. Can anyone think of anything else? I am looking for a song that sounds like "up up up, oh oh oh..." but am having trouble locating it. I am trying to put together deck party music that I can listen to.

That's an awesome idea.

Once you have it all compiled, would you be so kind as to post a list of all the songs you included on your CD, so that I could do the same. :)

Thanks

Robin,

We too fell in love with not only sailaway songs, but just the ambient music around the pools and on CC! So as soon as we returned from our May cruise, dh searched CD's and bought new ones, etc etc and compiled them on 3 CD's. Now we re-create sailaway parties at home!! He's got it hooked up to his Nomad and we have outdoor speakers and can listen by the pool. Of course, everytime Hey Baby comes on I have to get up and dance (and hope the neighbors aren't looking!!)

Since search is disabled (grumble) it took me awhile, but I found the thread where I had typed out all of the songs he had put on the CD's. Here it is:

I know the next time we drive down there we will be SO in the cruise spirit after listening to 15 hours of this music!! :)

Hope this helps!

Here's a few I would highly recommend:

Hot Hot Hot, by Buster Poindexter

Around the World, by ATC

Up, by Shania Twain

Walking on Sunshine, by Katrina and the Waves

Take on Me, by Aha

Heaven, by DJ Sammy

There are so many more, but these are great ones and they are always being played on deck and on Castaway Cay!!

ENJOY!

Beano is so smart! ;)

Don't forget "Livin La Vida Mickey" :) I remember that one from deck parties! :)

I found a great CD that I heard about there on the boards...Beauty and the Beat. It is Disney music with a steel drum flair! It's really cool, check it out.

We will be playing it at our sail away party

THe "get the party started" song is by Pink but I don't know the real name of it (my niece had to buy the CD for me). I'm sure there are teens out there that can complete the information for you.

What a great idea. I thought the musice at the sail away parties was great and whenever I hear one of them on the radio I take a mini-cruise down memory lane.

They also did the "chicken dance" song at one of the sail away parties.

OH! A couple of 'must haves' that I forgot!

Mambo #5, from the Disney Mania CD

Soak up the Sun, by Sheryl Crow

Red Red Wine, by UB 40

Under The Sea, by A*Teens

Party on!!!!! :)

Don't forget...One cent, two cents, three cents, a Dollar (Dance song) Most of the ship bands play this...

Good idea. I should do that in my spare time, when I get some spare time. Thanks to all for the lists.

Last year were were on the Western and we did a three disc set of music for the four families in our group--one disc of kids songs, one disc of cruising/sea themed songs, and one disc of favorites. It was a big hit. We packaged it up in a jewel case with a photo cover and the works--it looked and sounded great!

At the end of the cruise we left it with our server, since he had seen it and liked it.

We aren't doing on this year--no one is bringing a portable CD player; they all have these MP3 players now.

Anyway, here are some of the tunes I can remember that we included:

A Pirate’s Life For Me
Under The Sea
Gilligan’s Island Theme
Yellow Submarine
Caribbean Amphibian
Down By The Bay
Celestial Soda Pop
Octupus’s Garden
The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything
Magellan
Mickey Mouse Club Theme Song
Yakko’s World
Somewhere Over The Rainbow
Sail Away/Shiver Me Timbers
Margaritaville
When You Wish Upon A Star
Islands In The Sun
Caribbean Blue (Enya)
Sail Away
Mexico (James Taylor)
La Mariquita (Linda Ronstadt)
No Mermaid
Gone to Mexico (Willie Nelson)
Here Comes The Sun
Going Home (Mark Knopler)

My 15 yr. old put together a CD with all of the songs from the cruise, especially the Nassau Deck Party. We always play it @ family get togethers. Can't wait to go back in Feb. 2004!! Cathie

Bumping up for more ideas - Our cruise is getting closer and I would like to make a CD

My kids loved Dancing on the Ceiling. Everytime I play that they're swinging their arms and jumping up and down. There's 1 dance song that I can never get the title. It goes like "to the left, to the right, now cha cha". Any idea what's the title and artist?

Robin - what do you mean Volcano (Parrot Cay)
Do they play Buffet's Volcano in Parrot Cay?
