Hello there!
We will be cruising and one of our ports-of-call will be Port Canaveral on Monday, August 23rd. We were considering taking the ship excursion or some other transportation to Universal for my 8 year old son to visit WWoHP as he is a BIG Harry Potter fan. The ship docks at Noon and I figure the earliest we could get there is about 2pm. We would stay until 8pm closing to then head back to the ship. Anybody think it is possible to see most of WWoHP in this time? I am just now reading of the long lines just to get in to WWoHP and wonder if it is worth the hassle at all. I have a feeling crowds will be a little less as florida kids will be returning to school by then but not sure if I want to risk it. My son would LOVE to go, even for a little while, but i am not sure how crazy this would be!

Not knowing what time your ship is leaving, 6 hours wll be plenty of time to see HP
Couple of things
The lines have been getting better, and Universal is finally learning how to deal with the crowds. They are offering fast passes(there equivelant anyway) and they are also offering more mrechandise outside of the stores in carts. The other thing, it seems is the later you go, the better off you are.JIC, HP is at Islands of Adventure.

I would probaly hold off until you could plan part of a real vacation there. I've cruised before, and those excursions are usually pretty pricey. I just don't think it is worth the cost for 4-6 hours in the park, and I'm a huge fan of Universal!

Thanks for the replies. I think we may need to hold out for a universal trip. It would cost about $600 for the 4 of us to go for about 5 to 6 hours! It's hard because we will be so close- but yet so far.

For that price, yes Id hold off also. For 200 more you could buy an annual pass for a party of 4.

I think that's a very wise choice...it's too much $$$ for such a short time.
