Thinking about booking our first Disney cruise to Cast Away for next Feb or April. Any suggestions??? My first thought is we won't to arrive a few days before to play in the parks and possible after also??? Any suggestions? Are the cruise all inclusive? Does it cover you food and soft drinks, coffee.? Listening for any suggestions!

I am a DVC member andd plan on using my points.

THANK YOU!!

I think the weather would be better in April. Not on DCL, but my spring breaks are in March, and for 2 different cruise lines when we were supposed to tender into their private island, we couldn't get in, the waves were too choppy. Now, Disney pulls into it's private island, but there have been times that they cannot get into that port.

We have taken our DGC and family on 3 night DCL cruises. On the first, they had a 3 night stay before and then a 1 night stay after largely because the 5th Dimension were going to be in WDW and I wanted to see/hear them. For the second cruise we just had a 1 night SSR THV stay before, and then the cruise.

Both ways were fine.

Cruises are all inclusive as far as basic food, soft drinks except when bought at a bar. Room service is included. Disney cruises do have a special dining room where there is an additional charge. You are given a "tip suggestion" and it's more or less understood that if you cruise you will tip certain people.

Have fun on your cruise. Go to the cruise board and you'll see lots of people's answers to questions you don't even know you have!

For our first Disney cruise we stayed on points at WDW both before and after it. While we loved our days in the parks ahead of the cruise and the cruise itself, we found that unpacking and repacking for the 3rd time for our stay at WDW after the cruise was one time too many. Now we just spend a few days ahead of our cruise at WDW and fly home after disembarking.

We booked one cruise on points, but ended up staying off-site prior to the cruise as we didn't have enough points to stay in DVC property and pay for the cruise. We definitely missed being on-site and the standard of DVC accommodation. Since then we have decided to only use our points to stay on-site and have opted to pay cash for the Disney cruises. You, though, may feel that using points for the cruise is better value than using them for DVC accommodation.

Thank You
1) one more question????? If we stay at BWV on our points and book the cruise on our points do we have to pay for the transportation to the ship? We always use Tiffany towncar to be picked up from the airport to the resort. My son is autistic and the wait on the bus is much tooo long for him to get to the resort after getting of the plane. Just wondering if we would have to pay for the Disney cruise line transportation????:confused3

The cruise transportation is $69/per person. So, depending on the size of your party, it might actually be cheaper to arrange a car service.

A 1 way car rental works for us. There are a fair number of car agencies that have shuttles to/from port.

I would hop over DIS boards for Disney Cruises. You will find so much information you will not know what to do with it all.

We are going on our 2nd DCL this August. We are staying at AKL for 4 nights before our 3 night cruise on the Dream.

We are driving down so we will just drive over. I believe you can take Magical Express between WDW and DCL. The cruise forum will have all the details.

Also go on the DCL website there is tons of information there.

Book a cruise you will love it.

It is 70 a person to/from a resort 69 to from the airport only.
the cheapest way is to rent a car it is very easy to pick up and return near the port and vice versa when leaving.
the easiest way will be the bus as you will not see handle any luggage but will be time consuming
faster is taxi but you will handle your own bags for 3 it will cost a little more then the bus. (20-30 but who counts when the bus is 210 :lmao:) if you have 4 it will be less 5 you go into van pricing.....
